There was some water damage, but the place was surprisingly intact.

love the colors in this photo
Just imagine it with the 'skylight' still working. Most likely it is backlit, but still...
It looks like a face is peering down from the second floor. Look right next to the third pillar from the left.
Wheres a janitor when you need one?

when i showed this to my mother who stayed in this hotel a long time ago. she said "what a shame...i remember how beautiful it was and people should have taken better care of it." and i said i know older pictures show how beautiful it really was. it still is beautiful ...kinda...from the outside..even with the broken windows. i love going past that hotel everyday and looking up at it : )
Grand glass cieling.

its a shame what happened to the place i mean if you look at that postcard and compare it to these pictures its devestating
i agree with trevor i think it is horrible that they can just let a place get that bad to the point where people r living in the place i think when the economy isnt in such a shit hole i say they should restore it and re open it
Wasn't this demolished?
Yes, it says in 2006.
Hello Friends,
No the hotel lobby part still stands-but they ware threatening to demolish it-we really need help preserving it if anyone has ideas-contact me im on facebook
Since so much money was already spent on the building , why not find someone to take it over and restore it to what is was.l
I think they were saying it would be an additional 100 million dollars to restore
I love this place.... I am a little girl and everytime I look at this building it takes me back I would love to help and make it beautiful again
