Pale Lining

Pale Lining

The box had a delicate lining stapled to the inside - it appeared to be a simple casket for a small child or infant. A sobering end to this excursion, and so to this gallery.

Thanks once again Motts For a wonderful Gallery to see. Love your Site. Keep up the wonderful work. Love you Motts..........
I found it utterly fascinating that the objects and fake flowers have been untouched and have remained in their same positions for nearly 100 years or so. Seeing these images gave me such a sensation, i cant even describe, but through your artistic eye, this forgotten place has in a way came back to life. It been a stunning set that will become of of my favorite sets of yours Motts, It truly is a mind boggling set!
Great set Mr. Motts, and welcome home. Hope you had a great birthday, too. As usual, your work has kept me up beyond my bedtime..I am a fan!!!

Beyond words, Motts.
This is an amazing shot. It looks so.. I dunno almost comforting?

Beautiful and stunning set, yet again.
Motts: I really enjoyed these (and to think I almost skipped them because my passion is abandoned psychiatric facilities)--as usual your use of light is really wonderful. As I went through the gallery, I was amazed that this place appeared to have been left relatively untouched by both World Wars and imagined people from the town or village that it was attached to hiding in the tombs for safety. Thanks again--love your work!
Fantastic gallery Motts! What a find! Love the B & W.....Can't wait to see the rest....
A sweetly sad shot for last.

Thank you for another beautiful set Motts, I'm happy you're back safe and sound and Happy Belated Birthday!
Now really, I am almost at a loss for words.

That shot, sad as it seems, makes for a proper and fitting end to an amazing gallery. A gallery that is in my opinion among my favorites. And there isn't a shot that I didn't like either. So I think you definitely rock on this one.

Welcome back and [belated] Happy Birthday!! [/belated]
P.S. Thank you sooo much for all you do, the pictures you take and the hard work with the stories behind them. I'm sure I'm not the only person who appreciates it. :-)
Awesome set as always!!
Hello
I really appreciate your work! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Just a small remark, the title of this gallery should be "La Crypte des Fleurs" (in French, "de les" becomes "des").
Greetings
Othmar (Switzerland)
Motts, you are amazing.
awesome pictures! though i would have brought a 50 calabur with me
this entire album is amazeing.
Mr. Motts, you are a poet...not just with your photography, but with the words you add to describe the photos. Your wonderful pictures of abandoned places keep their memories alive, and now the unbelievably beautiful pictures in this gallery help keep the memory of the ones who have passed on alive. You're an amazing man...Thanks again!
Fabulous work, Mr. Motts! Truly a tribute to those gone before our time. Thank you very much for sharing your talents with us!
IT LOOKS AS IF THE CASKET HAD A CHILD IN THERE AND WAS REMOVED. CAREFULLY LOOKING AT IT YOU CAN SEE THE OUTLINE OF A CHILD THAT MAYBE HAD BEEN IN THERE AND THEN TAKEN OUT!!!
Almost looks like a flower or marble.
Motts, have you ever considered a youtube account?
Here is an idea, abandoned schools, there are some that you can go in whenever you want, DC public schools.
awww thanks motts . your galleries are like therapy for me (phew)
Breathtaking set Motts. Was the majority of the light in the set natural or light painted?
Such a stunning gallery, thankyou for making it possible for us to see these beautiful places Motts! x x x
Beautiful and heartbreaking.
When you say "the end" you're not kidding! Fabulous gallery as always.
my silence speaks volumes. nice work
Great gallery, Motts !
Thanks !
I was wondering, where's the dead baby from that casket?
Who would have known?
Hi there. I'm new to your site Motts. I'm extremely intrigued by how beautiful your photos are. I just can't stop looking.
A.S.V.......I think you're right, it does look like as though a child had been removed. But there is such a beautiful contrast from the soft lining in the casket, to the rough walls in the background.
I am at a loss for words in this gallery, unbelieveable! Everyone above said it all, especially JAVA.

Thank you!!!
This might be one of my favorite galleries. Beautiful.
Fantastic. Thanks very much for posting this.
This is one of my favorites locations! Excellent photos, since there are plastic flowers I would guess that the place has been ignored since about the 1950's, and that is sad. Your photos really are amazing in this location, I think you must have felt the aura of the location as well.

This last photo is beautiful as well, great parting shot.
thats not grim....... is it?
great! mister motts!
thats the saddest one on this hole website .i wouldnt want to see anybodys baby in there. not even someone i hate........
Nobody wants to think of a child or tiny baby dying,so this is a very sobering picture.
I am your greatest fan Motts your are a genius!!!!!!! xxxxx
I have praised you to many. Your work reaches deep within my mind and soul.
