Empty Lot

Empty Lot

After our close call with a car careening off the highway, we took a moment to take a few night shots and to be relieved.

This looks like my old high school to a point .
CE Byrd .
It looks like a meteor shower behind it
What's that? Looks like falling stars - in the sky...
Star trails - the movement of the stars caused by the earth's rotation.

This would be a good background shot in a post-apocalyptic movie.
This shot perfectly captures the "emptiness" of the location.
the white trails in the sky look like the spirits of former paitents leaving to finally be free.
Looking for former employees or patients who remember the place.
Hi Anna, I am a former employee, I was an attendant nurse on ward A-2-3 in 1976 and transfered to maintenance as an electrician in 1977, I was also a employee volunteer firefighter and safety officer as we had our own fire department for the facility. I new the buildings very well and it could be spooky when I worked there especially in the tunnels that connected the buildings and the mourge which was in the basement of "A" building.
if you would like to contact me my e-mail is mike@musicjones.com This is a great site, brings back many memories.
Hi Anna, I am a former patient of Ypsi State Hosp., As a teenager I was on the C5-1 unit for 2 years in 1979/80. Reminiscing brought me to this site. I remember very well how intimidating the building and tunnels were, we traveled through them many times going to various places like the B-Store and activities. My first job was in house keeping there which was located in the tunnels. My memories, good and bad, are many.
