Is that a camera in the corner? It looks like a cover for one.
It is a small mirror, used to see the entire room from through the window in the door.
wow. you are amazing. I love how you obviously look at every little detail of the shot, even catching your own reflection in the mirror along with some nice lighting. Marvelous.
its really eerie how clean this room is. Its kinda like its still a working facility.
Im expecting nurse ratchett to open the window and give me my thorazine
Big Brother is watching...
After looking on your site and other websites
I am amazed at how many mental hospitals
were active until the late 1900's. I mean were did all these people go? Is that why there are so many homeless now.
That looks vary vary cool!!!
The mirror was used for races. It allows you to look for other racers coming the opposite way so you are less likely to collide wheel chairs, etc.
I don't see his/her reflection in the mirror ...
that can only mean one thing !!!!
these rooms were the lock-up rooms. This was where one would go if they were out of control...I was in one of these on C63 in late 1971 and part of 1972. I was thrown into a brick wall while I was playing cards. One minute the game was going well, then I got up to go to the bathroom and whammmmm....I was only about 110lbs.(female) and this big big guy let me have it. This was an intake ward so both sexes were on the ward. We usually slept in the dorm area at the end of the L shaped ward. Just a creepy note....Dr. Dukay, director or head shrink, killed his wife and then himself while I was in-patient there. I think it was in the Detroit news or Ypsilanti Press or one of the local papers that is how the patients found out about it. I bet he haunted us as we tried to sleep.....
