I don't recollect where I was taking this photo - so it's quite a mystery to me!

Wow , the only thing this picture made me think of was it seemed that someone was bricked into the wall and the person who walled them in left a brick out in front of their eyes , and you're seeing it from the bricked-in person's point of view .
Geez now that you mention it.......
Momentarily possessed by the spirit of Ypsilanti?

...How does one pronounce that?
It is Pronounced " ip(as in trip)-sill-anti" I am a lifelong Michigander...many Indian names all over The state.
Extremely claustrophobic perspective. I feel so isolated in this photo. Fantastic eye Motts
The Amontillado!
That's very neat though. The light looks like burnt edges. =D
All I can think about it being trapped and that being my view for God-knows how long. Brings to the forefront feelings of sadness and isolation.
it looks almost miniature from that view
Thanks, Billy. :D I thought it was something like that.
peeping Tom!!
Your own observation window. What a perspective. A silent observer...
Amontillado is right Frida! It's good to know folks are still reading, and keeping theseold classics alive.
to the first comment here from ZombPiggers:

... it sucks to be that person !

I've been a resident of Ypsilanti Twp for 6 years now - I didn't know about the hospital until I started looking up local history. I wanted to see it for myself but never got the chance. I really wish I could have seen it. I didn't know Toyota was moving in or I would have made an effort before it was too late. I think Northville still has the main building standing, due to the fact that apparently no one wants to pay for the bio-hazard removal.
That one is patroled from what I understand.
I never got in to any of those either. God I suck.
Somebody drag me into a mental hospital;
no pun intended.
These photos are awesome. Thank god for all we have and all we don't -
I thought Amontillado as well...
This picture was of a seclusion room. I spent 10 years here in the 60's. It was a place of unspeakable torture.
