Bridge to Nowhere

Bridge to Nowhere

This is a Dorr thickener - water with heavy particle matter flows into the center of the tank and the contaminated sediment drops to the bottom. The cleaner water flows out to the edge of the tank where it is collected and sent out for further purification, while the sediment is collected and disposed of or recycled.

The combination of the obviously man-made equipment here and the natural beauty of the trees and their reflections are really picturesque
Love that reflection! Not a pond you would want to go swimming in!!!
Love the Reflection in the water too. Cool shot Motts!!!!!!
Really surreal photo Motts.... I would really like to see a wallpaper of this on.
You need to do more with water. It's cool.
Great water/reflection shot Motts, I love it.
This has to be one of my favorite shots.. The stillness of the water belies the hardships faced at this facility..
LOOKS LIKE A BRIDGE USED FORTHE DUKES OF HAZZARDS STUNTS!
Thats a pretty inovative way to keep the waste enviormently (sp?) friendly. So simple really.

Looks chilly and getting dark... like time to go.

We're on a road to nowhere, come on inside, taking that ride to nowhere, we'll take that ride - The Talking Heads
A papermill about 2 hours from where I live has one of these. . .or something similar. I always wondered what it was. But I never wanted to fall into it!!
I wonder how polluted that water in there is. Was this pond man-made, any kind of lining or anything?
