Medicine Bottle Room

Medicine Bottle Room

Another great feature - a room with medicine bottles that come up to your waist! The boxes have been set on fire, and many are smashed, but there's thousands more still intact.

wheres the medicine room?
All of these bottles are empty but the amazing thing about them is that they're all glass. They used to be stacked in boxes that lined the walls but you know how it goes in abandoned places near the city.
god this pic is bizarre, I LOVE IT !!!
the fire alarm box is sort of ironic
They must have really kept these people doped up all the time. I don't imagine they did much psychotherapy in those days.
Looks to me like the Purchasing Agent may have been somewhat inept..... don't ya think?
They appear to be sample collection bottles. We used the same kind in a lab I used to work at.
lol, i remember first walking into this room, i was all suprised
Can someone snag me a bottle?
what does that medicine do to the patiants
where is this room found?
If you look at Goddog's map, found here: http://theduke81.tripod.com/id9.html
It's the building labeled "X": on the second map from the top. Building N-10, the Tuberculosis Hospital Ward, the furthest back of the "new" buildings. It's on the ground floor way in the back near the shipping area. You'll see literally hundreds of little white plastic caps before you start seeing the bustedmbrown botles. You can't miss it if you explore the entire ground floor of N-10.
It makes me wonder if all those bottles are empty because they've been pilfered by druggies.
Nope, they're just empty because they've never been used.
Plus what you might find in most medication bottles at state hospitals is not what most druggies would want to take. You rarely hear of recreational Haldol use, for some reason. ;-)
These should be gathered up and put out for recycling (LOL)
They're all a brown, super-thick glass, and probably COULD be recycled.
Good for illegal substances too... ;-)
the medicine room is very weird up in pennhurst theres about 15 trash bags filled with the same medicine bottles does anyone think they can get any money for them
I am by far in love with this picture, and pretty much every picture posted on this site (being as i use to be a photography major) And i would LOVE LOVE LOVE to go here and take pictures.
If anyone would like to take me, or come with me email me at IreneAdamos@yahoo.com. Make the subject Byberyy please, so that i dont delete it.
I would like to go too.
Wow thats a lot of bottels...
HOLY CRAP THATS ALOT
It would be nice to have one of those. To remind me of the horrible stuff that went on there.
one of the main rooms I wanted to see havent found it yet
It's in N-10, the rear-most building on the property. Look above for a post I made months ago on the subject.
For those who wnat a clearer descriptiion, this is it. Coming from the light hallway, in N-10, it is at the end of the last hallway on the LEFT, NOT the basement floor before that.
I want thoses medicine bottles,!!!!!! what color were they, I have a few blue glass bottles that say medication and hospital on them.
The bottles are all a dark brown, mostly glass, with white plastic lids. There's also a plethora of brown plastic bottles but the majority are all glass. There's still quite a few unbroken bottles left. They're rather easy to procure.
ive been in there before..it was before the douchebag who leading us got us lost..i need someone who knows wtf theyre doin to take me on a tour through there..
hey radical ed..would you be willing to lead myself and a friend through interesting parts of the complex?
Join the forum (listed above) and either email me or private message me. I'll answer you either way, but put "Byberry" in the header.
Hmmm... joint visit.. sounds like a good idea.
I'm really interested in places like this. Spooky but with lots of history behind it. I'm really into photography, too. Me and a lot of friends want to go, but we're only 14 so, chances are, we're going to have to wait a while before we get the chance to. *sigh* Email me with any good information, and make the subject Byberry so i don't delete it, please. PENNIES.doctor@yahoo.com
I finally found this spot took like 100 bottles smashed 100 and theres still amillion left .....and they smell like shit on the inside N-10 the building all the way in the back behind champs couch.
Why do people keep seting fires in this one place?
The pill bottle room is a rather popular area of the complex and people keep setting fires there because the room is already burned out. Another fire isn't really going to make much of a difference, unless its hot enough to weaken the buildings structural integrity.
second time to this site. cool pics in the tour. Radical Ed Im new to this but have you guys ever found areas or rooms or other things that nobody knew was there? hidden stuff like not on the blueprints ?
I knew I put my medication here
i was there 2!! some of the bottles r still in good condition i kept three myself lol
medicin bottles are good. but that room isn't!
those are " collection " specimen bottles, not medication.
Well if the place is demolished, yes those rules pertaining to directions etc. don't apply any more.

Building numbers aren't really directions to a location, and Byberry wasn't hard to find with half a brain, so there is leniency for some places. The disclaimer still holds true though - there is no revealing of locations with pseudonyms, and no building entry information will be posted.
aww shit.
there might have been something good in one of those bottles...
This photo gives new meaning to the term..."being knee deep in......."
i wouldn't have noticed.
wtf i never did find that room... anyone still got one? hit me up

you know i think I still have a few. all different sizes. It was amazing how many there were destroyed and still how many intact.
I'm trying to get in touch with Radical Ed, but I don't know what forum he was referring to. Anyone with any information on that to pass on to me?
Damn!! That's a lot of bottles...Anyone willing to part with an extra bottle or anything else that came from Byberry??
