This is actually a pic of the infamous "Button Hallway". Notice the thousands of black plastic buttons on the floor. They lead into a textiles workshop with some of the ugliest fabrics I've ever seen.
I'd walk gingerly on tippy-toes under that baby!
Does anyone see the next eBay fad - "Actual Buttons from Byberry"? There's a market out there, people!
8`-)
This hallway also leads to the BBQ Courtyard.
so can one actually get a button? i grew up in suburbia around philly and use to come here as a kid with my brother and hand out cigarettes to the patients. around 1985. this site is unbelievable.
Dude, there's thousands of little black buttons all over the rooms and hallways in this part of Byberry. Look in the pic on the floor. I'll pick up a handful next time I'm there and post after I get 'em.
I actually took off a year from work several years back and made my living selling crap on eBay, and buttons were one of my best sellers. I LOVE buttons. But I would like a couple from here just for my ownself. Mr. Radical Ed, sir, please send me a mailing address via Motts and I'll even send you money for postage plus a little extra for a 6-pack to help you make it through the site again. ;-)
If anyone has button I would love one!
I have returned from the Berry with a pocket full of buttons today.
Sunday, Oct. 9th.
Oooh! Oooh! Oooh! Can I have a couple? I promise I won't sell 'em. :-)
Hey! [she asked suspiciously] Do buttons have orbs? >:-(
Orbs? Nope, just four little holes and some Byberry grime encrusting them!
Buttons are too flat to be orbs.
Twug, my little love, I didn't ask if they WERE orbs, I asked if the buttons HAD orbs. There is a (supernatural) world of difference there! I just didn't want to get no haunted buttons that would be flashin' their ghostly orbs at me all the time and haunting me with tortured tales of having been sewed on haphazardly or, Heaven forfend, having been placed on a garment with mismatching buttons - horrors! =8-o Just think of how those poor little buttons would suffer for all eternity! =8-o
lynne................LMAO !!!!
Oh my I can see it now the naughty button orbs, always unbuttoning when least expected, leaving poor Lynne blushing
Radical Ed, I would love to have one of those too!! and no I won't sell it!!
Well, I'll jump on the bandwagon, too - I would love to have one of those! And no, I won't sell it either

Then I can go around and show it to my friends and say "Look! I have a -button- from Byberry!" and they will be like "Wtf?" because they don't understand my fascination with such places...oh well, their loss.
Ed I do hope that you saved me at lease one button please tell that you did.
Sure did dude!
Ed you are my freaking hero!!! Do you still have my address or do you need it again?
Ed did ya send it yet?
I believe as of yesterday I own some of those button! :-) Thanks Ed!
And I'm in school! I fought them to get opacity back.

i would love to have one! please?!

Is this building still up
if so which is it
This is one of the "newer" buildings. We used to have bbq's in the courtyard to the right of this pic. I'm pretty sure it's N-9.
I'm sorry, but I'd like one as well. Sometimes, when I feel items such as clothes, buttons, or precious stones, I can tell where it's been and what it's witnessed (like a shirt belonging to a dead person. tells me how they died.)
I know, I know.

Mail me!

Hey...um...not to be greedy or anything, but could I have a few buttons; E-Mail is madmac570@yahoo.com
Ha look what I have started jealous people!
The whole place is slated to come down to become an "active adult community". One man has already died wjile inspecting the place for demoltion.
it looks like a monster coming out of the ceiling
Okay, I believe I've been looking at these pictures too long or something. In the middle of the photo I see a man, he's wearing an old cap like a bus driver or a pilot would have worn back in the 60's. It looks like he has a white shirt, dark tie, and a dark coat. His hands are folded in front of him. I probably need to take a break and give my eyes a much needed rest!!!
I saw a man too!!

and then i realized it was just the angle of my screen along with smudges on my screen. laptops, GAH!

my stomach turned upside down though, for a minute
Interested in any items or stories from 1940 to 1950 ... buttons too..thanks
