What is on that plate above the doorknob--is that a recess or a stud of some kind? It's creating a really interesting optical illusion in conjunction with the doorknob.

kind of ominous looking. the radiator is recessed in the wall so I guess it was less of a hazard to the patients

The radiator being tucked in the nook is a great idea. Less sore legs that way. The paint sure peeled a lot here. Are all bathrooms that way?

paint like this makes me think of heat. The way that a lot of heat will make paint boil and bubble. Maybe some kinda weird experiment gone wrong lol
