The Autopsy Theater

Across from the autopsy room was the grandiose theater; the dissection table on the floor here has been removed just as the other stainless equipment, but many other items in here were very intact.

i was able to see an ampitheater similar to this one in a facility near my home. It is in a physicians hospital that is fully functioning although the ampitheater is curruntly locked up and quite rundown.
Very cool!

That railing at the bottom of the image looks transparent in places; is that an effect of merging photos?
the operating space looks smaller than i would have thought... once you put a table, equipment and one or two people, its gotta be rather cramped.
Yeah the stitching of the photographs isn't perfect, so the railing appears transparent in places.

As for the size of the place; things look pretty small from these back seats, so they probably made it as cramped as possible so everyone could see the procedure.
Wow, the panarama is really good i must say, im inspired once again...

Its the way to learn i guess...If it wasnt for this we wouldnt have medical science be the same as it is nowadays..
Very interesting room, I kinda feel uneasy, I guess it s just my imagination going wild!
Wow, this photo threw me off a little! Very neat effect!

Did you use a type of "fish-eye" or convex lens, Motts?
If this is two photos you merged or layered.. you did a phenom. job. Damn.
I always thought of a theater as a place to see plays. I guess you couldn't call it a lecture hall though. It's sort of in between
Welcome to Autopsy Theater and I'm your host Alistair Cooke.
Wow. The world before modern technology--definitely before video feeds replaced in-person viewing.
Cozy
It never fails to amaze me how rapidly a unmaintained space deteriorates. This facility hasn't even be disused for half a decade yet.
This has to be one of the best rooms you have been in Motts. So much to see in one shot,Not to much to be found like that here in England. Will you be coming back soon?
Wow, I remember entering the place back in 2003 and I think it was approximately a year after they shut it down.

On the main picture of the building I entered it with two of my friends on the left side. Our original intent was the go up the stairs but my friend had mentioned a series of tunnels that lead to the infirmatory (sp?) . We were in there for a good hour or so but ended up leaving because it was cold and raining that night and none the less we were getting freaked out.
Actually wait I was talking about the Dever school my bad.
I'm not sure if I will be heading back to England soon, I'd like to see a few other places if I were to travel (more Germany, France, Russia, Italy, Scotland, and the west US coast)
Wow, neat shot!
fantastic shot... wallpaper, pls?
unbelievable shot...nicely done.
Motts is that a window or a mirror on the wall.
What a picture. I really like this.
I have seen one of thoes on tv befor. it was intresting. Nice photo
I was wondering, what are those TV looking things hanging from brackets to the left and right of the doors? Are they TV's or are they some sort of lighting?

Kewl shot Motts!!
nasty .

i can just imagine the smell in there while doing an autopsy .
/:
i dunno, it kind of reminds me of when i saw the sound of music the first time. i can here julie andrews twirling around singing THE HILLS ARE ALIVE...........
yes nutsy the guy at center stage is singing, all the while yanking out intestines with rapid, jerking, hand-over-hand movements, spindles of colon arcing upwards in the air like sausage yarn, and he's pelting random onlookers with giblets in time with the beat of the music. then he rips off his surgical mask and his headdress (a ram's skull) and buries his head in the chest cavity, slurping voraciously.
...im sry was that too much? it was too much wasnt it?
I bet front row seats were disputed like the first piece of birthday cake by children... hehe
Wow, amazing shot!
Brilliant shot - i'd love to sit there while an autopsy was going on!!
Thanks for those mental images there REZ...I think I won't have to worry about sleep tonight. :-)
Keep those Junior Mints put up!
You are now the star of the show.
I wonder where the snack bar is,did you find any loose programs on the floor or popcorn kernals?Did you check under the seats for gum?
Wow thats a fabulous shot... this website is really amazing!! Never been on it before... check out the Denbigh Mental Hospital... I live near it :D
where is the wide screen? Am i on planet hollywood?
Come one, come all, to see the dissection of the newly deceased!!
they take the table but leave the t.v's. bad thinking on their part.
Meh, that TV is old & worthless. Stainless steel is forever. Fantastic shot. Need a box of Junior Mints. (Seinfeld fans get the last line)
I was heavily inspired by this room in the creation of a 3d environment. I've got some images of it posted up in the forums here if you feel like taking a gander.
