ceiling; is it?

Look closely at the tiny tiles. They're not just in plain square grid pattern, and all the same size, but have a bit of their OWN pattern to the layout. Imagine how long that took (unless the tiles were in pre-made sheets...?) Love the attention to detail in these old buildings :-)
