Bones

Bones

These bones looked like they came from a small animal. Although the graveyard was mostly not vandalized, these bones and the absence of marker #666 made me doubtful that these were natural happenings.

I wonder what kind of an animal are these Bones??????
Marker 666 would have been an awesome photo.
It looks like a deer, probably dragged there by another animal.
If the headstones were in evenly spaced rows was there a space where 666 would have been? Perhaps the hospital staff avoided that marker number themselves.

Great to see a new gallery up.
I think that most hopsitals that opened that early on avoided the number 666 as a religious precaution. I'm not sure where I heard that & i could be wrong.
That had to be an eerie find for you Motts.
Nuthin like a bucket of KFC in a grave yard.

Hey, I found this site a week ago and I've been looking through it every day. Awesome :)

A lot of places still avoid certain numbers for largely superstitious reasons...some businesses will skip from floor 12 to 14, almost all the schools I've been to are missing locker 666...
:O...creepppyyy
Despite the fact that this was staged, it makes for an absolutely gorgeous photo.
I dont even know what to say about this one.... lol. Thats cool
... these bones (dear readers) are the remains of a deer - a young one at that - perhaps dragged there by another animal - you are looking at the remains of what is lefted over from an unfinished meal - what ever brought this deer down - will keep coming back until this meal has been finished - bones and all ... but the (#666) if it has something to do with the resting place of one of this hospital patients - by all means put the correct number on the grave marker - because once the grave yard officials leave this sight - they may never return - that would be the last thing an individual will be able to do for this deceased - we are not dealing with family members here - who would do a great job with this grave site ... in most cases - a grave site like the ones we are dealing with (once left behind) will never be dealt with again (or) this grave site could come up loss (lack of info) to establish (who) is inside of this grave - makes for a situation - as to who is in this grave - whose idenity will be known (only) to the Almighty ... it really is a hurting feeling to know that (a lost grave) something like this could happen - but in most instances - it does ... a note of thanks please - ms e m garrison (usa) pine bluff arkansas ... cc:emg/wl
Being this place looks very old my guess is that if it were an old christian cemetary the number 666 would not be used for door numbers or patient numbers and therefore not grave markers. this is most likely the case since most hospitals i've been to, new and old, did not use the triple 6 digit for anything. As for the bones i'm guessing eithrt a fox or coyote killed a young dear somewhere and scavenger dragged a piece of it elswhere to eat what was left for safety in case the original killer comes back.

Yeah, and most regular hospitals when you go in the elevator...the 13th floor is called "records" right on the control panel. Or at least it's that way at StonyBrook, Mather, and St.Charles.

Or some sick kid thought it would be great to take home #666, i know a few people sick enough to do that.
thats a fucking dog leg
RE: To above comment...

Dogs don't have hooves. They have 4 toes, with nails and pads on the bottom.
thats so freaky .
i dont like the feeling this shot gives off very much .

uhm, I would be glad to not find a 666.
Or maybe the hospital decided against using that number. ?

who knows? hehe
I agree perk. Seeing a 666 didgit in such a place would make most people feel uneasy.
It would make me even uneasier if the 666 was in their forehead or right hand.... :-/
EEEEK No grave 666?? Very strange indeed!!!
insanity and a 666 marker? they were massivly superstitiouse back then wernt they? maybe thats why the 666 is missing maybe they thought it would bring back evil souls.......just a thought
Creepy and very very cool shot to see.
I've been to this cemetery many times myself and have personally seen the spot where marker #666 used to be. Someone has unfortunately stolen the original headstone and it is now marked with a wooden #666.
ergh..... the numeral 666 has nothing to do with the devil nor the bible for that matter. Learn to read.
To the above comment. The book of revelation mentions "The Beast,666" More than once. You should read the Aleister Crowley inspired book Necronomicon. All of the information is in there.
@hmm.

Revelation 13:18 (King James Version)

"And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. (666)"

I find it hilarious that an illiterate person would tell everyone else to learn to read, haha.
At my school they had to take locker, 666 out of the building...
come on haters, self expression is good and so are individual opinions. Ever hear the expression "live and let live" Not just a James bond movie or a Paul Mc Carntney and wings song.
Mr Motts are you superstitious/ religious or both ??
Neither, actually.
It's just common practice to avoid numbers of bad omen, even in today's world. My guess would be that there was never a patient #666. Just like buildings missing the 13th floor. (In china it's usually the 4th & 13th floor missing in commercial buildings. 4 sounds like death or die in chinese)

Anyway, sorry to post dribble in an old gallery. Saw the updates, glad you're back!
