Beautiful. It always surprises me when something that could have great uses in an area that really appreciates its history is torn down.
This is just sad to think of all this beauty lost.
thanks for giving us beautiful picures that will remind of before that horrable day when evil hit.
you frickin rock motts
Awesome! i love old churches!
just saved my day with those new pics Motts!!!
Yes! More galleries! I kinda held out hope that i might be the first to post for once...but alas it was not to be.

It is definitely the perfect day for it, on Long Island its a cold and rainy day...perfect for this.
I get the sense by how squat the entrance was, that people were pretty short back then. :-)
This is so sad. I was hoping that they could restore it. R.I.P.
If it were my job, I think I would have a hard time demo-ing this one.
I like castle-like buildings like this.
dont make them like this anymore
I was so sad to hear about the loss of such a beatiful place
absolutely beautiful
WHY WAS IT STOPPED BEING USED MR MOTTS?LOOKS LIKE IT JUST NEEDED A BIT OF REFURBISHING AND A GOOD CLEAN UP.
Its such a shame this wasn't saved. Looks like something you would see on Long Island
Oh! I'm crying as I sit and look at these pictures. I graduated from the school in 1964 and went to Mass every day in that gorgeous chapel as I was a boarding student. It tears my heart apart. ....
I agree with you, Diana. I was in the class of '58. I never expected to see it again, but somehow I still expected it to keep on being there. This is a shock and a shame.
This is really a very stunning beautiful view of the chapel, i'm shocked as i'm tearing looking at it, it brings alot of memories, i'm out of words, I thank you for sharing this beautiful picture with all of us. God Bless you, Merry Christmas to all of the world!
this is where i wanna live
A heartbreaking loss, thank goodness for your photos.
omg it"s gone? that's progress.
I was baptized in this chapel when I was 11 years old and a student at Eden Hall. Knowing it is no longer there makes me very sad. It is so full of so many memories for so many people.
i walked there for many years.notice the tree lined path that headed east to the pond.it was lined up directly to the front doors of the old boarding school
Looks almost as the entrance in the first Diablo game. Cool
While researching some family history, we found that my grandfather had listed Eden Hall as his final destination when he came to the U.S. from Alsace in 1902. He worked there as a gardener.
Thank you for these beautiful and heartbreaking photos, which allow us a glimpse into a lost world.
To demolish such beauty is indeed a Sin.
To demolish such beauty is a sin indeed.

Out of sight, out of mind; the Society of the Sacred Heart perhaps wanted to forget what they once were.

We could use Catholic boarding schools like this again.
My mother was a student here in the late 1950s. She died at the age of 27, and her yearbook from Eden Hall gave me a glimpse of who she was. I was so fortunate to visit Fleur Park In 2002 and see the chapel myself. It was very moving. What a shame that it could not be preserved. I couldn't find a way into the chapel. Thank you for these beautiful photographs.
praise the Lord...this chapel was pivotal in my faith journey. thank you for preserving it in photos. class of '53 and still counting my blessings.
