Wow! It looks like this vine is devouring the building
Looks like some kind of ivy. They used to play ivys (and wysteria too) as decorative plants. Well cultivated and maintained and trimmed every year...until the building was no longer used, then plants do what, they were intended to do, and that is cover the earth.

Ivy make great pets. I have two of 'em in flower pots on the kitchen windowsill.They live for years and go all the way around the kitchen.You can see the seasons change in the girth and texture of the vines according to changes in temperature and slant and intensity of the sun,much like growth rings in a tree.Only you can see them without killing them.Also you get wierd outcroppings and strands of growth eminating from the main,again,depending on when and where and how the sun hits them.
