some patients feet are flopping all over the place instead of velco they may have use these chairs I wish they use these for some of the residents I worked with

I've never seen a chair like that before! I've seen geri chairs at the place I work, but never these... Very neay shot!

No, it's a chair for a person to sit comfortably and to keep them from falling out, especially if they do not have voluntary muscle control.

Never saw a chair like that - those foot rests are creepy. I also feel sad when I look at this pic. I imagine an old, lonely person confined to this chair, with nothing to do but stare out the window & watch the world go by - some-thing they're not a part of anymore

The chair looks like it has a strap laying acrossed it. Definately a strange looking chair.

this chair was like the old version of a wheelchair and sometimes when the patients acted up they were placed in this and straped in

I worked at Ladd School in the 1970s. This chair was usually used for patients that had severe Cerebral Palsy. There were a lot of patients that did and those that did usually had other medical complications. It was designed to keep the patient from falling out due to the lack of muscle coordination.
