Checkered

Checkered

The hallways were very nice, but the rooms were quite bland. The laundry cute on the right leads me to believe this was a nurse's residence.

Lions and tigers and bears - oh my!

I think thats the first time i've seen him do that! LOL! Well, thats certainly something for the obituary.

World Famous Urban Photographer Mauled by a Mountain Lion while photographing an abandoned state hospital!

Back to the topic, i love the floor...makes you wanna play hopscotch
Loving that floor, I want it in my kitchen!
Jude, you really want that dirty, nasty floor in your kitchen?
Why is that checkered floor so creepy???
Why is that checkered floor so creepy???

Because it looks like Satan's hopscotch court
:)
Hey I can clean it up THEN have it in my kitchen. :-)
Halls of the abandoned, eh?
Lynne, so nice to hear your dulcet tomes, or tones. Nothing like burning ones butt on a nasty steam radiator. Mesh aside, it's still hotter than hell.
it reminds me of American McGee's Alice... dont know why :)
the tiles are red with bloodstains from the poor souls tortured here by callous and uncaring workers.

hah! just kidding. ( fooled ya?)
You are certainly a brave man Motts. But if you put ammonia in a small spray bottle, it is a way to blind your assailant before you run. :-)
I'm now in the mood to play chess. LOL!
Looks like a Christmas stocking on the floor. Hope it was just an optical illusion.
Nice tiling job :P
i like, is very creepy, make remember a location in Mexico, la posada del sol, is great, i hope you visit this places in the center of the town
Does anybody wants to play Checkers.
Reminds me of a part of Half-Life Episode 1, where you are avoiding shots from some flying alien craft.
The floors are just left...people pay a pretty penny for floors like that.
In my country there are still lots of buildings with the exact same characteristics, the lovely floor everybody want's here for their kitchen, the colors, architecture, etc., but with people still living in them because of what we call "frozen rent"... where people due specific old legal conditions or death of the owner without inheritors, stopped paying rent, but since the building is not theirs, the don't put a single penny for maintenance usually old and lonely people... they're just part of all the whole abandonment. Very sad.
A checkered past!
I don't really know what I love so mcuh about this shot, but its gorgeous!
Brave man. Glad whatever it was didn't getcha.
I don't know how you do it. Along with everything else, now you need to worry about wild animals?
