wallpaper please
Hail oh mighty drivein. Did I ever get laid, no, but I got some mighty cheap feels. Lordy, I miss those little tykes of my youth.
MR. McDERMOTT THIS IS ONE AWESOME PICTURE!!!
3rd vote for a wallpaper!
Wow, this is just incredible.
About how long, on average are your IR shots? And do you use the standard Hoya R72 filter, or have you converted one of your cameras to strictly infrared?
Anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute or two. I use a Hoya R72, but this photo isn't true infrared, it was processed with a black and white filter.
Nice shot, Motts. Very surreal! There's an abandoned drive-in around here, actually. Now I'm tempted to go and check it out. =)
There's another one in Dayville(?), CT. Just the screen though.
Anybody else thinking, "Here's Johnny!" from Twister?
Motts ,
My dad was in the Motion Picture business and this brings back such memories. Thanks !!
Like a great monolith towering over flattened fields, the very forces of the earth seem to move in responce to this man-made square obstructing the sky in a comanding fashion... very nice photo, probably one of my favorites. keep up the great work, and have you ever thought of making prints of your photography?
Beautiful.
I cried.
(well, I teared up a bit)
Very shattered film noir nostalgic. Lovely.
This picture saddens me in its expression of mortality of the things we see as new and modern. This is truly a superb shot and I too say:
Wallpaper
I grew up in Newington CT, and have pictures of this place. where do i send them, or talk to?
they used a crane level that place i think
I loves it! Nice shot Motts!!
looks very very proffesional... not like walmart degree proffesional... like yale or harvard degree professional... or whatever photography school would be the equivilent of yale or harvard or some other massive ivy league...

yep
great shot
wow. i can't believe i stumbled across this. i saw the lion king when i was 9 years old at that drive-in. it was so sad when it died. there is another really cool one that is abandoned near thomaston connecticut, you can see it from rt. 8. i took a few shots there. there really is something about abandoned drive-in theaters. they're not like abandoned hospitals, the theaters hold happy memories and good times.
Whoa. Just simply, whoa. Beautiful shot.
