Something tells me he was looking for a Pink Panic Button at the time!
Almost every abandoned medical facility seems to have a lone wheelchair.
I wish you'd have taken a pic of him in his gym shorts. Were they pepto bismal pink too? ;-)
LOL, great story. I have to go see this one before it's gone...I hear it's demise is imminent.

Now that is pink! I loved these pictures. You did a wonderful job!
Getting a picture of that "caretaker" would of been interesting to say the least. I am sure he would of been more the willing to oblige your request. But I sure as hell would not ask him for a pic...lol... I would of probably been out the door just as fast as you!
The caretaker lives in the building? Wow! is he lucky or what!
Another loney wheelchair....it looks so sad all by itself. Nice photo Motts!! : )
desmet - this building caught up in red tape, it seems, so I wouldn't expect it to be razed too quickly.
"The State lease of the *redacted* property has expired and the Division of Capital Asset Management is currently writing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the property. The RFP will include a requirement to the developer of the construction of the site to provide for a new facility which will replace the old..."
So, it seems that the government is seeing to it that our grand kids may have their own building to explore on the site!
Did you know this place was opened in the year the RMS,Titanic was built and sank.

Wow you could clean the floor and wheelchair and be back in business.
