I wonder why they would just leave that stuff there and take it with them or dispose of it. was there a new center built to replace this one or did it just get closed down???
I agree with rtotten.
I agree too with rtotten.
I agree with Olsen Johnson...sorry channeling Mel Brooks for a second. Could be pure laziness. That seems to be why most shit gets left behind.
I agree with rtotten too
I'm surprised that OSHA or HIPPA didn't claim the log book or whisk it away in an airtight plastic evidence bag.
motts did you look in it?
This is odd. Like everyone else I wonder why they left this stuff behind.
it is scary that they left stuff behind like this book. The privacy of the patients that are recorded in this book can be exposed and that is not cool.
Mott... in your photo that's labeled "Good Luck" i noticed something suspicious. You blurred out some text, so as i flipped through a few more pictures... i got to this one, i was the same setup of text on the log book as in that other photo.

I blew the photo up in photoshop, and after some guessing of letters i realized that it said,

I found this interesting because when i searched for Massachusetts mental health center's i got nothing on Thompson Mental Hopsital. My mother used to work near 'Lemuel Shattuck Hospital' in Boston. She had a patient who ripped her eyes out while she was in seclusion...

good day Mr. Mott,
~Carl.

ps: didn't realized ur terms and conditions about comments until i typed all that, please dont take it upon me Mott. :]
haha, my bad :]
I really like seeing your pictures on this web site. Very nice. You do a great job. I don't know why I like to see abandoned buildings etc. I guess I always wonder the history of these places & all the people that lived & worked there. It was someone's life. The patients that were in these hospitals ....it can really make you think alot. I do marvel at the medical records etc stuff that should not be left behind. It should be disposed of properly. I work in medical records and its horrible to see stuff like this for all to see. Its just not right. Motts your site is great. It'll take me sometime to go through most of these pictures. Thanks for all your hard work. :)
We don't know what was being logged in this logbook, so we shouldn't jump to the conclusion that it contains confidential patient information. Perhaps it kept track of deliveries to the lab, refrigerator temperatures, or routine maintenance of various pieces of equipment in the lab, like the way fire extinguishers have to be inspected once a month to make sure they are fully charged.
I soo would of swiped that
Ripped her eyes out...?
Whoa.
