Full-strength Blood, Mid-strength blood and the new Blood Lite!
ha, ha.
oh a tiger top tube( thats what we call it here in washington) used to seperate the blood, its very intresting to look at it after it has spun in a centrifuge, you can see how high your lipids might be:-)
Of course Urine is in the yellow tube...just goes without saying.
is there a pill inside the urine container?
Whole, 2%, 1% and Skim
yep Joe, It looks like a microdot. ;-)
Micordot? Groovy man! :-)
nope it is a chemical used that mixes with the urine when collected, its used to produce a urine culture to detect bacteria
Gosh! It's a great photo. I love its simplicity and the composition. It's interesting for me thereis the same tube for urine sample as for blood's ones. In my country we use different tubes for blood samples but we collect urine in little jars. On the other hand it must me damn difficult to pee into tube like that ;)))
You don't actually pee into the tube. You pee into the cup. With a great deal of care, to avoid spillage, it is poured from the cup, into the tube. The tube is put into a centrifuge, spun down, the majority of the pee is poured off. The lab tech then pours a wee sample of the sludge at the bottom and looks at it under a microscope.
Just curious, 'cause this is my domain: was there any EDTA or heparine (both clear fluids) left in de "whole blood" tube?
Reminds me of my first job @ what was then called Institute for Cancer Reseach (ICR)
Today it's called the Fox Chase Cancer Center.
Did they leave in a hurry? I doubt it. But it looks like they just left in the middle of the day and never came back.
actually Big Ed we use a 18 gauge needle suction like a vacutainer needle to extract the urine from the cup directly into the tube:-) you put the straw in the cup and attatch the urine tube onto the needle and hokus pokus its in the tube.
rtotten, the term "straw in athe cup", referring to the urine, made me gag as soon as I read it, lol!

Ha.
lol to last comment ...

good thing they hadnt already been filled (and left there for you, that would have been disturbing).
oooh souvenirs!
