A Beautiful Bride

A Beautiful Bride

While traversing the halls, I caught a glimpse of a woman with a wedding dress on. I thought I was seeing things until her entourage followed. I wanted to congratulate them on how great of a place it was to get married, but I'm sure they didn't want to be bothered by a filthy looking guy like myself on their wedding day!

That is too nifty, getting married in an old castle. Too bad you couldn't take a picture of them; that would have been cool.
thats great.....that is a cool idea to get married in a place that has a history even with the neglect the building shows! I love it when people do different things rather than the traditional way.
If they had been familiar with your work they likely would have begged you to take their photo!

I have a feeling you have a lot of fans who would love to have you take their wedding pictures in an abandoned site.
I for one would love to get married in a abandoned Castle.
Maybe it could be a new career move for me ;-)
I'll hire you for my wedding Motts :) I just need to find the guy to marry first, lol
Awesome hallway shot as always!

What a cool place to get married!
That is really cool! I seriously never thought of that! The only decenr ruin by me is Kings Park about 20 mins away and my mother would definitely have a fit if i wanted my second wedding in a Psych Hospital!!!!! I just see it as prudent planning!
Dammit Motts where were you when I got married?? Career change indeed, you could make a killing!

Love this hallway shot, the rather eerie green in the middle of it is captivating.
So many more money making possibilities Motts! I still would love to see "The Panic Button" photo on a coffee cup! :-)
I agree with Jude, I got married in May and I was seriously considering contacting Motts to see what he would charge for pictures.
There is no way this shot should be real - it is "too good to be true." :-)
This hotel should be saved, restored and reopened, plain and simple. Even a person in Canada who's never heard of this hotel until today knows that.

++++++++++++

Honey, he prolly wasn't even born when you and I each got married. ;-)
Well dahlink, I was widowed and then remarried in '97, I'll bet Motts had camera in hand by then! :-)
Look at that hallway -- it's to die for!
wow Id love to be married in a place like that too. Motts you can take the pictures. Any single women out there lol
I love your corridor shots, LOVE them!
It would have been really cool to have the bride at the end of the hall. It'd make on hell of a wicked ghost shot change title to....
"Corpse Bride."

I'd love to get married in a place like this first thin find a girl who would like to marry a lonely Canadian.... Any takers?
Idea you could renew you vows every year with a differnt man and wedding dress and location just look at you husband as you say your vows.. If i ever got married i would loved to get a picture in front of that window.
Too bad you couldn't get her picture...it would have been beautifully surreal.
I would have loved to have been married in an abandoned castle. But it will make it even more sad when they tear it down
I'm confused. You really saw a bride in her dress? Am I missing something in this picture?
Awesome shot Motts,,,,,did you get a shot of the bride?? THAT would be cool!!
No I didn't get a shot of the bride, as her group was quite busy doing their own thing, and I felt it would have been invasive.
how do you know the bride was "real"? Sounds like a haunting!
I'm female
I'm Canadian

Who wants to marry me? I'll marrying anyone who loves & appreciates these sites and photos!
I have no comment.
Great Hallway. This place is a great work of art...even in Decay.
Sane Smirk
I''m Canadian
I'm male
And I have been coming to this sight for almost a year and I love these pic's!

I want to get into Urban photography because of all there unreal shots that Motts takes.
Right now I take pic's of old abandoned cars. Or anything else that catches my eyes.

If anybody wants to see them E-mail me at cargeek-101@hotmail.com.
Canada, you're like me! I got into UEing after I saw Motts' galleries...!

I've only taken pictures of an abandoned church in Montréal so far, but I'm going to head out to Ontario soon...
My email is dragon_serenade@hotmail.com

As for the picture, simply grandiose hallway shot with a great story! I love it! When I get married, it's gonna be in a ruin! :P
are we sure the bride was with the living???
;-)
only an urban explorer would have thought to get married in an abandoned castle. must have been cool to see her there in her gown, too bad you didnt get a pic of the wedding party.
That must have been a beautiful contrast..old church ruins.. New bride.

Grim, dank & dark colors.. Bright white dress.

OH man, that makes me think, I should have asked the city, three years ago, if i could have permission into the Renwick ruins for my wedding pics.... Dang it LOL
You would be the ULTIMATE wedding photographer. And in such an ethereal setting. How fairy-tale-ish. I would have LOVED it , as would my husband.
Are you sure the bride and enterouge were even human??
I don't know old fella, laying eyes on you may have made the Bride have 2nd thoughts.
Neato.
I'd have hired Motts. We didn't get married in anything that was currently abandoned. However, it once was. We got married in a restored mansion that was operating as a restaurant. We had our first date there. The restaurant displayed a photo album of the place when it was abandoned as well as pictures of the process of restoring it. A few years after we got married the owner/chef passed away and it was sold. It is now reopened under the new ownership.
Could someone tell me more about the disposition of this Chateau?? What is the size? Condition? Cost to renovate? Who to contact, etc.? wran865621@aol.com

Thanks, Wes
The colors are wonderful!
I'm getting married in July and it's really too bad that there aren't any ruins around here that I could get married at :( cause that seems like a really cool and beautiful thing to do! (and right up my alley!)
Unbelievably beautiful shot......According to the comments above, I think you do have a new career ahead of you in Wedding photos!
A beautiful Mind

I'm available.
Call your wedding photo sideline "Matches Made by Motts" ;)
I don't know about ruins, but if...I could get married at Hotel Del Coronado or Grand Hotel Mackinac, I suppose I'd like that a lot...much easier than hoping everyone has sound footwear and no formals get dusty or torn! (My church will do. It's not quite a cathedral and the windows only have a little color, but lots of light, open space.)
