Reminds me of an Escher painting, it is quite the amazing photo!
An outstanding shot mergeing the buildings decay with the outdoors
it's so sad
Ok that is just effing breathtaking.
A wonder! Not one Window is broken!
No price is too great for the restoration of such beauty.
Inspiring, beautiful!
Jude has the right words.
Those stained glass windows make me cry, to think of them being lost. However, I am impressed with the people from this area for not having destroyed them by vandalism already. They wouldn't last a week in most parts of the U.S. :-(
Soon these pictures are all what is left from this great place. : (
Its amazing that the windows have outlasted the roof. I hope they save them
So sad. All that beauty gone to waste!
Wow, this place must have had amazing light back in it's prime.
The colors are fantastic and I to hope those wonderful windows are saved, even tho its highly unlikly, because people are EXTREMELY STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!
so beautiful and so sad at the same time
I wish people would get their heads out of thier a*ses and stop tearing these buildings down. Whatever it costs to renovate it's worth ever penny. These structures cannot be replicated.
Its to bad they cant save the whole place! Maybe I will win the Powerball! I will buy it and save it! yeah thats it!! and we can all meet up for a Motts Grand Ball!
It's a shame the government is just going to toss away this gem of a castle... sad because the architecture is absolutely stunning and also the history behind the place makes it one that should be renovated. To think the reason why the past is lost is partly due to the fact money is needed and will not be put forth to secure a monument of such stature... Truly saddening...
those windows are incredible...such a waste
would love to see what this place looked like when it was being lived in
I'm kind of dumb to these things, but do most of these buildings lay in the hands of the (government) ? Is that why so many lay in ruins? I guess I'm just a dreamer but I'd love to hear one day that someone formed a historical society and fixed it up for the sake of preserving it's timeless beauty.
you should see these stained glass windows in real..NO picture can bring the exact colours "alive"!! they are breathtaking with the sun shining through!!!!!!! It's a CRIME to let that building falling appart............
It's so sad that such a breathtaking piece of architecture is left to rot.....
I hope they find something good to put in its place to comemorate it like a nice shopping center
Definitely Escher -esque! Amazing shot....
I agree with alot of people in this thread. What a total shame and waste of what was a beautiful building. The stained glass windows are beautiful. They just don't make buildings like this anymore. I do agree in the US those windows would be totally gone. I do hope that they try and save something from this building. If not was a total shame. Just think the $$ it must have cost back in its day and the cost now to have windows like that...heck even the building itself. Of course to restore it now would cost a ton to. Its a shame it got to this point really. What a waste really. Makes me sad.
yeah

Well, its' 2009-a lot has changed in two years;
economy.
The World is beginning to clutch its' corporate throat.
I don't think something like this could be a high prio now...................
The windows are in perfect shape and amaizing
Why can,t this or any government fund for a simple iron roof patchwork anything to allow these sentinels of the past to remain for they rot from the roof down fast spend some money save the past ?
