Grated Floor

There was a two story drop below the grating.

Those floors are creepy, you can see all the way to the first floor, and when you step on it, parts pop up, so it doesn't feel sturdy at all. I hate the steel grated parts of this builfing.
I take the kids bike riding here, and these pictures have answered all the whats in there questions. Thanks for the great site.
all i remember is looking down and getting freaked out..
I cannot STAND to walk on that kind of floor...even if its just a few feet up....They just freak me out. But to be TWO STORIES UP? In such an OLD building?.....
I'm totally with you on that one, Tony. I completely avoid those grated sections on city sidewalks...just like I try to avoid those open-back stairs *shiver*
A friend of mine and Motts had to take an emergency dump and stayed back while I went down the steps to the steam tunnel...DIRECTLY BENEATH HIM! I saw his shadow from the grate above and dove away from the spot lickety-split!
I am not so sure that the phrase " lickety-split" should be used in an occurance like the one you jsut stated.

:) almost as gross as the defination of mong.
Oh god disgusting! Yet another thing I must watch out for if I go exploring these places! Bad enough stepping in dog crap, but geez!
You mean... you guys actually crap in these buildings? That's disrespectful, you pubes! Dangle your arses out of a window if you need to shit.
And hit a police car???

LOL
That's how you know you have the bird flu. You have the sudden urge to poop on a windshield.
Can't wipe THAT off with a shot of Windex!
Your going to need to get the garden hose out for that.
AM, that is VERY funny! Can I use it this week somehow in my conversation, pretty please?
I've been quoting 'Thomas Covenant' in normal conversation. (LOL) I've actually dropped "It's just a dead bird..." on another internet forum.
Yes, okay, I admit it's not the perfect solution. Porta-potties might be. Bring your own porta-potty, rig it with a few wheels and a handle so you can take it with you on your trips. If you're travelling by car, you may have to tie it to the roof horizontally (however, make sure it is empty if you don't want feces dripping down your windows). Also, it might be a little bit hard to take with you in old, unstable buildings where the elevators don't work.

Apart from that... perfect solution, no? :-P
Judderman,
You definately have the bird flu if you end up with a whole porta-pottie on the windshield.

Lynne,
Of course you can. Glad you enjoyed it.
Carrying a Wal*Mart bag in your back pocket will work equally well. It can be disposed of properly.
they make a small porta-potty for camping it is only 15 in. high can be a pain to get down on if you have bad knees .
Ok, I gotta make a suggestion here: why not try going BEFORE you get to the site? Just an odd thought to try out...
Codeine and Loperamide the night before boys :):)
This is my second or third time looking at this photo. What I can't figure out is why there is a weight from a weight bench in the middle of a grated floor above a two story drop.
Is that a weight from an adjustable dumbell at the bottom left?
think it is.
Why not refurbish one of them there wheelchair comodes; you can rig a motor to it and drive it to the site.
And ,oh yes; I noticed the barbell weight too.
Seriously, how old are we, six? Can't most adults healthy enough to explore an abandoned building also control their bowels?
this floor is weird to walk on. feels like your going to fall through the floor
I can use this floor to grate feta cheese!
