That's a very touching pic. I love the personality in it.
Kind of creapy. I like it!
In away, it is strange and weird at the same time that these people left their gear here.
How mysterious. Very surreal.
I wonder how long those have been there.
Ah! At a glance I saw someone leaning against the wall there. That was pretty creepy.
Pretty cool shot...gives the mine life.
makes you wonder , maybe the poor guy never came up from the mine . and its left behind as a memorial . just a little spooky .
was it hanging there when you found it?
This picture reminds me of something I saw in Silent Hill. Actually the seen it reminds me of was one of the most scary one’s in the movie lol. What a coincidence that this building is a coal mine and the thing that caused the town Silent Hill in the movie to go all creepy and scary was a coal fire underneath the town besides that the building its self looks very unstable in some parts wow quite a lot of guts Motts, its also a very cool picture.
One of my favourites from this set so far, this shot is perfection! I love the feel.
Creepy but interesting. Old bathrooms and showers have a creepy feel to them
Helt lysande bild! otroligt vackert.
Agreed.
Nice motts! Did you check the clothes to see if there was a name in them? Like a name tag or something in the pockets? Accually now that I think about it, better leave it alone you don't want some coal miner ghost following you around.
That's where my coat got to! I was wondering about that... :P
Dean! That was exactly what i was thinking...Silent Hill definitely! I'm just waiting for Pyramid Head to come around the corner or that grotesque janitor to come out of a stall!
oh my god this is so cool.
the metal objects under the ledge the boots and gloves are on are they doors to lockers or like a t joint peice of metal just for support? or a section of scrap I-beam that got put to use?
I just love the peeling plaster on the wall ;)
Great shot of the hat and coat. The stalls still have a amazing agelessness to them after 25 years. I did a lot of research on this mine, and found out that it only operated for 15 years, but had the largest number of employees at the time of shutdown; 1500 at least! But even with all the miners working there, even for only 15 years, the mine was abandoned in one day. From the looks of things, it seems that everyone left in a big hurry.....wierd.
Wow Dean, you didnt get the story of Silen Hill at all. Im guessing you have only watched the rubbish movie that doesnt reaaly explain the real story from the game very well. What cause the town to go "Creepy" definitely wasnt coak mine fires.

Anywat, awesome picture, looks like a small person.
I'm so tired of every picture reminding everyone of Silent Hill.
100% AGREED! Video games, Horror movies, Goth music, Slasher stories.. someone will tell me to get off my high horse, but why does everything have to have such a juvenile twisted image automatically attached to it?
the coat speaks of an other emotion, rather than horror or fear, but an abject loneliness
that has come to personify motts's work. Just a thought. great work motts
I totally thought that was a real person. My heart sank into my stomach.!!! Love that picture!!!
I left my hat and coat there and its' still there.

My name is Christian Geshensen and I wrote Silent Hill.
Those items probably belonged to a young miner. Like a teenager or something. I hope he wasn't lost in the mine. :(
maybe it was someone's stuff that got trapped in the mine or was hurt and died? can't picture anyone going home in their work clothes after work when they have clean ones right there!!
wow cool
Amazing that after 33 years it's still hanging there. So cool. A reminder that there were once people here 24/7.
What a shot, Mr.M. Excellent find. Eerie and uncanny, and will NEVER know why items were left behind. There is a bag there, too. Keep thinking it was the lunch. Am dreaming it was a very hot day and he rushed out to meet his beloved. And next day mine was closed......
