What exactly are those....? They look like some strange kind of valve coverings.

Hot and cold water supply for the vat, looks like. There's a later shot where you can see what looks like a dial-type thermometer on the pipe that leads from these into the vat.
That's my guess.

Nope, they look like soap dispensers! LOL! Oh come on, I cant believe no one else posted it!

Okay so why green, itsn't the universal hot & cold colors red and blue?
