Porches

Porches

These porches gave patients a view of a large French inspired garden out back. Below is a photo of these porches in 1937 (photo credit to Paul Henri).

Looks like more of a retreat than a sanitarium. Not so much anymore due to the vandalisim :(
I agree EFFE, i do love the colors though....
I love the before and after shots Motts!
The sleek lines blow me away!
I love it already, can't wait to see the rest.
why do people destroy something beautiful? It drives me crazy!
Love the before/afters!
Really love the past and present. GREAT!!!!
How sad, to see such beauty and good, gone bad. I live in Evansville, Indiana, and a week ago, found out that someone in our tri-state area is going to renovate what is left of our old turberculosis hospital- Behne Camp Hospital, into upscale condos, and an activity area. It has been neglected and abandoned since I was very, very small. If anyone would like more information, let me know on this chat-& comment section. Thanks!
Dawn, I live in Indianapolis and am quite interested in Behne Camp. Please email me a.oak@insightbb.com Thanks.
Love the before & after shots Motts...Thanks!!!
Looks like the deck of Titanic, I want to be there.
Yeah, it reminded me of the Titanic as well. What a gem, you really didn't see much of this sort of modern architecture back then...or at least not around the New York area.
The old pic reminds me of the top deck you'd see on old steam ships!

It's a shame it's been so brutily vandalised - yet its image still grips me.

Well done Mr Motts Sir!
WALLPAPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've looked at photos of Lemaire on a number of different sites...and what really gets my attention is seeing the past photos, with no greenery near the building, compared with later photos that are overgrown.

I just can't stay away from it.
Those are great photos, Andy, thanks much. What a difference from the than & now photos. How sad. All the work that went to making it beautiful...and now it looks like this. How sad really. It would probably cost too much money to re use the old building now right? What a shame really. What a shame.
looks like the titanic...
Such a shame. Why do people destry things like this?
Andy, thanks for the pics!
