That door looks slightly ajar. What's in there?
I love the minimalist and gritty nature of this shot. Did you vignette on purpose, Motts, or was that just how the available lighting presented itself?
Thanks, yes the light spilling into the room made this vignette... the windows and doors were shuttered and boarded on the outside, making the openings to the inner courtyard the only sources of light. It reminded me of a miniature Metropolitan State Hospital in layout and lighting.
Grace described this one perfectly, it is gritty yet beautiful.
Oh that small amount of liht just makes the photo sing with interesting and spooky-ness!
The vignette also gives it a Victorian appeal too.
I was wondering just when this place was built? From the looks of things, the wire to the light switch being ran on the outside of the wall, I'd surmise that it was before electricity was installed.
