I love how the infrared makes the scene look as if it's been snowing. I really love when a photograph tricks the viewer.

I agree with faaus, the instant I looked at it I thought 'an old bell toll'; perhaps to alert the people of the house that visitors had arrived. Very neat.

no, there are two of these things, one on each side of the entranceroad, at about 70meters from the front of the castle.

In fact this was a lamp, there was another on the other side of the road. The lamp was in the circular part.
