Clock Tower Staircase

Clock Tower Staircase

I loved how organic and simple this staircase was. It looked like the steps had been removed, which made the thing like a dirt slide.

wow that thing looks neat. did you try to climb it?
Yup, they led to the top of the clock tower in the next few photos.
My GOD it would KILL me to go up those! But.....
it almost looks like it would make a good slide:-)
Pretty risky. Looks like quite a fall if the structure decided to give way.
that is a neat looking staircase, and slide!
ACK! I always knew you would do anything for your art! And I was worried about you and the nettles - no more, Bub! You're on your own! ;-)
WHEEEE!! My kids would love that, they'd have to get in line.
I'd try to run up! That must of been a fun task to get up there!
Maybe in my younger days. These days, I think not.
That's so pretty, I wish they hadn't let this place fall to ruin!
ZOWIE!
You're a brave soul Motts! I really love the gentle shape and curve to this.
Just goes to show i'm not the urban exploration type, I'd take one look at that say.."I dont think so!". Your a brave soul Mr. Motts.
I can't imagine the work it took to build that free standing staircase.
Reminds me of a friends house with a somewhat similar staircase leading to the second floor... Beautiful.
Where is the railing?? No way I'd go up there without a railing to hold on to.
Wonderful shot and I love the angle.
This reminds me of a couple things -- in harry potter/hogwarts the stairs turn to slides if a boy trys to go to the girls dorm...
And this also reminds me of ...some kind of broken dream, and sadness....
Motts you are a fucking amazing man!!!!!! If only I had the chance to venture at my own will to places like these, I could spend hours on end just exploring, I live in little old New Zealand and it is a very young country and there is not much in the way of abandoned places, there are a few desserted gun emplacements and army bunkers, and I do happen to live about 5 mins away from an abandoned mental hospital but its small and, well, boring and lame compared to the places you have been. I have always had a mad funny obsession with dissused and abandoned places as im sure all the rest of these people looking at your site do, You give me a lot of insperation Motts, most of the time I just wanna jump right in to your photos and walk around in there, youve been to some amazing places. What a life to have lived. Keeo up the awesome work mate, and please write a book or do a documentry or something please please please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
looks like fun to me. whose got the water?
I bet when the stairs were in good condition they looked really cool! (even tho they do look cool now that they're kinda destroyed) 8-)
