Yup, it's a Singer!
Something insectoid about it.

I love rusty needles!
Somebody other than Singer makes sewing machines? ;-)
Yep, Richard, I agree. It looks like a praying mantis......
Looks like Motts just won the Opacity Photo Comp for this month!

Awesome shot!
I'd say you're right Sian!
is it me or is the needle still have thread in it?
Im pretty sure the needle isn't threaded, Joe. It does sort to f look like it, though.
chris - currently I use a Canon 5D with a Sigma 12-24, Canon 24-70L, and a Canon 75-300, with 6 gigs of memory.
Thanks Mr.Motts for the close up! I sew and both of my machines are by Singer. Poor little rusty (and abandoned) sewing machine...
Ohhh,Singer!
XD My,God I knew that name was familiar!
The president of the Singer Corp. Frederick Gilbert Bourne, had a Castle built on the St.Lawrence River, about a 30 min. drive from where I live;they've been renovating the castle for some time now and it's open to the public, but God a part of me wishes they'd just leave it alone XD It was amazing to go through it.
i bet that this was used to keep the straight jackets in good order
Singer sold their sewing machine division years ago to focus on making weapons as a defense contractor.
I stick by the 1930's maufacturing guess.
I can see a side loading bobbin!
SINGER : once the premier name in sewing machines.
