Beautiful.
Good grief this place is cleaner than my house!
Pristine doesn't even cover it. This place looks spotless.
I agree with Lynne!
Motts welcome back!
Your eye is splendid. I've never seen such pristine photography before. I'm so glad I stumbled onto this site.
looks new not a 150+ years old. but Lynne is right.....as always!
You have to hand it to engineers, they are clean freaks.

Amazing pic, Motts.
O.O cleaner then my computer.
and for those who don't know that's saying alot
I love old overbuilt things.
so do I
just way to clean. it's cleaner than the hospital that i work at. What is that knife looking thing?
It looks like one of those knifes that you ice a cake with.
This facility has to be clean.....it's a museum now. Don't you people read the opening paragraphs ??? It still operates on certain holidays thru the year as a demonstration.

The "knife like" lever is a locking lever for the valve wheel. This is more than likely an oil injector valve. Occasionally, oil is injected into the mechanisms to keep it lubricated. The locking lever allows the valve to be open to a certain level and locked in place.
This place looks like it's ready for the workers to come in and go right to work! I wish it was this clean at my workplace!!!
nevermore, the knife looking object is a file for wood or metal.
this place is absolutely amazing.
What amazes me is the attention to detail and perfection in things like the countersinking depth for the name plate srews, The nameplate itself, just for a wheel. The finishing of the thread end of the shaft. The engineers that made this equipment, considering the technology of the time, were true craftsmen. Very rare to find now days.
Moose, negatory on the wood/metal file, (note the matching ends on the wheel crank and the handle of the lever)
