I know you went in the summer, but it sure puts me in mind of snow on the roof edges.
What is the white round thingy next to the square window beneath the arched window?
I'm guessing a clock. Kinda a weird place for one though
Yup, a big ugly clock... I suppose it was useful if they used the field for recreation.
I am guessing that the round object may be a light fitting. Although it would seem rather strange that there would only be one. Although if it is indeed a Clock, then that would be a very strange place to have put it.
nevermind, upon closer observation I realised that it is indeed a clock!
Isn't that the dangedest thing? What a weird place for a clock like that!
It is a clock because I have seen it first at hand.
the windows have gone some one has nicked them out of the chapel or the window cleaner is very heavy handed
it is a clock and in all the time i worked there (79-87), it never worked!
You have no idea the thoughts and reflections that you have caused me to have after seeing your photos of "The Laurals" Cherry Knowle Hospital. I trained as a psychiatric nurse at this hospital and looking at your photos remined me of many staff and patients who walked these corridors. If filled me with great sadness to see its state, but things have moved on. It is easy to look back in judgement of the past and fail to see the great goodness that was given and recieved in these places in times gone by. Many thanks for the opportunity to look around the Laurals.
