Apparatus

Apparatus

This odd looking device was just a hair dryer... but I still wouldn't want to stick my head in it!

It instantly reminded me of that big light they have at the dentist.
It's the Auto-Lobotomy Machine.....
I like the plant growing out of the counter top.
looks like a blood splatter on the wall
Today is a good day..... to skip the hair appointment. Cancel my appointment with Mr "Pepsy" (?)
an apparatus indeed
Aw, come on, it won't hurt! It's for SCIENCE!
(hides satchel of sharp implements and probes)
love that little plant, too!
Hmm, still plugged in...
Where is this building ???

The reason why I ask this question is because of the electrical plug.

If I am not mistaken, it looks very European in it's design and shape.

Also the electrical outlet itself looks European in it's design and shape too.

I wonder........................................................

the building is in sunderland NE England. I know who pepsy is and he knows I know....dont you!!
Thank you for responding Colin.

I thought that those electrical plugs were European in design. I just went to "google maps" to see where Sunderland, England is. Sunderland looks like a nice place. It does not look anywhere as busy as London. This website is just super !

Thank you again.

I know a lot of hospitals had their own salons at the time, because patient stay in hospitals used to be often for MONTHS before the advancements we have in medicine today. Modern medicine allows surgerical procedures to be in outpatient status, procedures that used to require days worth in inpatient stays in hosptials in latter times. So perhapes this is one of this hair dryer things used in salons at the time...but it dosen't really looke like that. Hmmm...
It is a hairdryer, remember the Laurels was a long stay part of the hospital in the main, only East and West 2 were relatively short stay. Only the female patients used this room, the barber for male patients had a room on the Larels East main corrider as I recall.
I live approx. 2 miles from this building ... it has some history ... after seeing these shots I wonder if its still possible to enter this magnificent building ... thinking about a little tresspass trip with camera too ... when were these pics took?
