My very first post on this site, and all I can say is "Beautiful"!
Wow! Sure would be a shame if they didn't at least save this portion when/if they demo the asylum. From here it looks like even the windows are unbroken.
yea! new pictures. what a view!
That is an awesome view, I tell ya. The place looks massive!
What does that big graffiti word on the back wall say? Looks like "SHON", but I can't tell for sure.
Looks like an upside down wooden ships hull... see you got the lone chair in there too... very nice.
Oh, how beautiful...and so far, other than the tagging, looks like it's still in pretty good shape, too.
Wow! That room is just breath taking! Simply gorgeous!
Oh Great Chair Photographer! We bow before your talents capturing discarded seat!

Beautiful room.. I believe they'd almost HAVE TO preserve this one!
i expect so its beautiful, it prob is a listed building so they would have keep it !
WOW! Absolutely magnificent.
I can't imagine what it took to build those trusses. Simply beautiful!
Absolutely Beautiful!
Absolutely gorgeous chaple....And the lone, prone, praying chair is awesome! That's the place you should stayed in overnight.....I'd have slept on the alter...
Looks as if the stained glass is still intact. That by itself is amazing.
Damn, what woodwork! =8-o
Wow, thats a great photo.
I'll just be over here...drooling at the architecture (especially that window).

And a chair! What more could we ask for? Excellent, fabulous, fantastic as always, Motts.
OK I need a towel..
breathtaking. This is one of the most incredible shots I have seen. WALLPAPER PLEASE!!!!
I'm sorry, but i would feel seriously guilty for grafitting a church or chapel! Especially in a mental institution!
gotta love gothic architecture
What a fantastic picture, Motts. You really know how to get the feeling of these places in your photographs. I don't see any light fixtures, or soap dispensers, for that matter :-) I wonder if they only lit the chapel with natural light. It seems to have worked for your photograph.
This picture took my breath away
Beautiful room. Here in the states, I think the woodwork would be salvaged for resale, so hopefully they'll do the same in Britain.
I love the arch's Those are really cool. To bad they will be turned into scrap
LIKE KEMPER SAID..... I LOVE GOTHIC ARCHETECTURE! TAKEN SO WELL TOO!
Excellent!
Back then that kinda woodwork wasnt looked upon as anything incredible, it was just a job well done. I wish it were like that these days. Beautiful photography as per usual.
wow, you have a real knack for photography... great shots, great site
Extraordinary.
it's a shame that most graffiti artists use their talent just to let people know that they were there, the big one in the middle, in my opinion accentuates the beauty of the building.
WOW .... Stunning, such ashame some one had to graffitti on the wall of that stunning place. Never the less that is beautifull yet eeyre.
A new Gallery! Weeeeeeeeeehaaaaaa! Thanks for brightening an otherwise crappy day Motts. :)~ I was jonesing for some wonderful new pics to look at!
I wonder if they will restore this palce or tear it down. It would be a shame to lose it
I am astounded. May I ask, did you feel like you were on Hallowed Ground when you were there? It looks a lot lite a Catholic Chruch in So. Illinois that I've attended. Brings back memories. Great. just great!!!!
an absolutly gorgeous piece of work it is so big and lots of space all i can say it's beatiful
walked round there last week and some saddo has stolen all of the glass out of the windows of this church it dont look the same anymore i all so got stopped by a guard he said cherry knowles is going to be flats shops and a main road is going to go past it dont belive him like
**SPEACHLESS**
most of the side windows have gone now, so the wind whistles straight htrough. Originally, the chapel, which was non denominational, had long rows of pews from back to front, (if you look carefully at the photo you can see where they were located on the floor). Male patients sat on the left, female patients sat on the right. They entered and left by the left or right hand side doors.
been up here 2day and must say it is in a right mess. Every window in the chapel has been smashed the doors on the chapel are and the carpets have been ripped up. poor cherry knowle
beautiful, i just incredible, like a dream, a very strange dream
all windows have gone no glass at all and no lead have all been stolen
this place hold so many secrets.the world will be a lonely place without it.wot a shame
Fantastic architecture...
