'The staff on duty today are: Motts and company.'
Electroshock will be administered after cocktails, and those desiring Lobotomies are requested to queue up adjacent to the buffet.
Multiple personalities to the right, please. Those prone to psycotic episodes to the left. All othrs, please go straight down the hall to the left.
Those wooden doors would fetch premium dollars.
There's a little Gumby playing around the upper left corner of the doorway.

Looks like he peeled a lot of the paint off.
Hannibal are you in there???
LOL! Good Morning, I'm Nurse Ratchett and I'll be your hostess today!
Excellent shot - reminds me of Tarkovsky or the dutch masters

Nice Frank, the Three Stooges are very funny and they really rock.
Used to be the disturbed ward where people needed that little bit extra care and attention. Some of those doors were locked from the outside with no handle inside so the patients couldnt get out until they had calmed down. There were peep holes so you could check to see if they were alright. Sounds barbaric I know but at the time it was the done thing
The very first thing to pop into my head as soon as I saw this photograph and read the welcome sign is the song by Pink Floyd called "Brain Damage"

The lunatic is on the grass
The lunatic is on the grass
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path

The lunatic is in the hall
The lunatics are in my hall
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more

And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too
Ill see you on the dark side of the moon

The lunatic is in my head
The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
You re-arrange me till Im sane
You lock the door
And throw away the key
Theres someone in my head but its not me.

And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
Ill see you on the dark side of the moon

WELCOME??????
Madnic is quite right, this was the male disturbed ward. I did night shift on here for a while, there was only ever two of us on duty and it could get quite hairy sometimes, but I have lots of affectionate memories for the place.
