Peaks

Too bad the church was sealed tight; seeing the hospital was good enough for me though! Time to drive across the country to see more...

(I usually try to refrain from commenting so much, but this gallery brought it out in me!)
I am new to this site and you have a lifelong fan, Mr. Motts.
The only advantage I have being new is that I can go back and look at past galleries while everyone else has to wait, NYAH, NYAH!
another breathtaking gallery! bravo!
Thank Goodness I got to the end of this gallery. I googled 'medical illustrations' at 9pm last night and I have been looking at your photos and ALL the comments since. It is now 6.11am (yes, 9 hours later!!) and I MUST get some sleep before the family wakes up.

Lovely to 'meet' you Motts. Your photography is truly a gift from you to us. I am inspired like never before.
I counted seven X's, do I win a prize?

Simply amazing gallery Mr Motts, a super huge thank you for sharing them!
this last one is so beautiful it is almost painful. once again thank you Motts * stands and applaudes at the computer screen*
thanks so much for taking us to places we could never get into, or have the guts to try. You're a better one than I
I just found this site a few days ago and spent the whole day browsing through the galleries. (So much for studying...) This is really beautiful photography, you definitely have an eye for it.

The subject matter is, obviously, fascinating as well... I have a phobia of hospitals, so I found many of the pictures frightening, but compelling at the same time. It's interesting to think of all the people who must have walked through those halls and lived in those rooms. It's not hard to imagine how it looked all those years ago.

Amazing work, I look forward to seeing more!
mr motts. i just love your work , if you dont already have a book out you should........
It's amazing to see a local landmark look so amazing, loving your work, well done!!

Awesome photography, wonderful that someone can save the sites and buildings to print.
I can just hear the pipe organ music belting outwards!
im doing an english project on this place and you've helped loads with these amazing pictures thanks! it really helped me to understand the building.
i have been to whittingham at night its beautiful but bloody scary, and the history made it so much worse. great gallery :)
mmmm, in getting an addict to this page.
Great set
i live right across the road from the hospital and its ace to see these pics. it is so sad that its all going to be knocked down. my mum and dad both worked in the hospitals for many years and i have so many memories of my dad taking me in there and meeting some of the patients, and of growing up, hanging out with my mates in the grounds. i have lived here all my life (22 years) its so sad to see it go :-(
Yes awesome shots.
I too lived near whittingham and used to cycle through the grounds and play cricket there!
Whittingham was a magnificent place, so sad to see it go....the Photos are stunning...thankyou for helping me remember this place...
lovely photos... frighten me a lot tho! I can tell you now, most of that damage was done by local yobs from the surrounding villages. Gives me the creeps knowing i used to go feed the ducks here when i was tiny! then the village festivals in front of st lukes! such a shame they are going to knock it all down and build houses there.
Another fabulous set Motts!!! Thanks! :)
Even being so old, its quality is apparent...
My Mother Majorie Stopford(nee Yeulett) worked at Whittingham Hospital as a Nurse in 1937/38 and lived in Longridge with her Mother at 3 Ashton St.. Her Brother Ernest Yeulett worked there after the war I think and later his son William Yeulett.
