Recline

One of the few medical devices left inside. At least they don't let it all wastefully rot away like in the US I suppose...

Someone from the NHS'll see that picture and it'll end up back in a hospital!
Looks comfortable, though!!
Is this another take on the solitary chair shot?
There's those cool shaped windows again!
That still looks relatively new!
The unusually large, relaxing, lonely chair/bed. ;-)
no lonely chair shot, just a lonely bed
the raised eyebrow windows are watching the bed for the NHS, keeping it al lsafe like.
I love this shot!

I wonder what the actual height of this great room is, what, with the ugly drop ceilings up there.

Also, the curved edges on the (beautiful) arched windows and corners gives it a "padded room" look to it.
I think this is a shower chair I worked in a nursing home and this is what the shower chairs looked like.
sit back...relax....and Die!!!
HA!
Between being in B & W & the angle of the shot making that thing appear to be extra long, I get an image of Frankenstein's Monster being strapped onto it.
The Glenn Strange version from the cheesy 1940's flicks.
Hahah, I bet it's already there Keleigh! It looks brand spankers to me, maybe just dust off the cushions a little.
seems like you had a good run of the place,
im wondering if this is "breaking and entering" work, or was it allowed.
i've been arrested in the past for breaking into abandoned buildings for the sake of photography...what fun
1000th comment in this section, yay
Makes me thing of the lethal injection chairs/beds they use in prisons, or maybe an older version of them.
Motts, you should of taken this chair in the hallway with the pallet jack and had a race!
We're all about wasting in the US. =] But doesn't that just make for some interesting pictures?
you want to remove all your blood???, or just the bones
keep looking up
Take a seat, friend. It's okay....we won't hurt you.....

....yet.....
i feel so sorry for people who were in these places all that time ago
not understanding and having no real affection or love
Was someone looking through the window on the left or are my eyes playing tricks on me.
Yes it is sad I knew a few people who spent years in those places.
The wasteful rottin of equipment is what makes these places so much more interesting and ominous. imo.
That's an ambulance gurney.
Omg it actually looks like someone is there in the cielling... FREAKY! I totally think this is one scary building n wudnt like to go in there!! id probs av nightmares for the rest of ma liife!
Many times in the US it simply isn't cost effective to recertify and/or reuse outdated medical equipment due to stiff regulations that govern such equipment. Besides, a 30 yr old X-ray machine could still be useful, sure, but lets be honest - would you want one used on your kid?
