Needs an organ transplant . . . . . =8-o
Wow, how sad! All the work that went into making that organ, and this is what remains!
HAHAHA, Lynne, u crack me up!!

It's really, very sad to see that picture though. To think of how beautiful it once was....
Organs were not easily made back then to they did not stamp the pipes they actualy had to form each one. I heard this on the TV show dirty jobs lol. He had to clean out the dust from organ pipes.
that is what happens when you play with your organ too much
Lynne, you give me a stitch in my side =)
im sure beautiful music was once played on this gorgous peice of peranment history ♥♥♥
All I here when I see this picture is the song..
"Oh Holy Night"
I guess I'm just hearing the season and that my church closed and the organ was moved to another parish!!!
There's probably some museum somewhere that would love to have this organ in their collection. I'd love to see it restored.
It's a shame they left it deteriorate this far.
Lynne you made my milk come out my nose!
I love photos of abandoned pianos and the like.
the hospitals former physitherapist was a guy called ken fanner, he was a brilliant physio, and for the record, completely blind since birth. he was also a renouned church organist, and even built organs and refurbished them, despite his blindness. in his house in the grounds, the entire downstairs main room was filled with a huge church organ that he had built from parts. i was told by one of his staff that he was regarded as being one of the top organ players and experts in the whole world. he retired to a house near st ives in cornwall some years before the place shut. a remarkable man, who would weep if he knew of this organs state.
thats beautiful
i love it.
nothing lasts forever , I suppose..................
It lloks like a pipe organ, now. See the pipes? ;-)
What piece did you play? Mozart or Betoven?
the pedalboard has definitely fared the best....looks like it could still render the Middelshulte 'Perpetual Motion for Pedals Alone'
It is shocking that the NHS have allowed for this to happen - contents should have been sold on, buildings maintained etc. The NHS should have maintained these buildings - after all they will be still standing when a modern building is crumpling.
it is sad i would of loved to see it when it was made..but i do like the pic
i saw that one tom all ways in joed that show.
It was an amazing building and a wonderful sound came from that organ and th physiotherapist was a realy nice man
lmao @ Lynne :)
My father (who worked in the hospital kitchens) was the chapel organist throughout the 1970s and 1980s. I wonder if he was the last to play it?
Lynne, that is hilarious! :) Such a shame, though.
