I love the greens and grays in this.
Oh wow, the ceiling structure in this hallway is awesome! They just don't build them like that anymore, do they? Hallways these days - especially in institutionalized establishments - are like antiseptic tubes (except they're square, so I guess they can't really be tubes... huh...) This must've been a beautiful place once, too bad it carries so many tragic memories alongside that beauty.
I agree GirlJaye....the ceiling is beautiful! Especially the way they incorporated the skylights into the architecture. The peeling paint, decay, and green taking over inside are extra bonuses...
I'll say, Tony! It's like nature kind of picked her favorite rooms in there and moved right in!
Absolutely beautiful. I'd love to see a time lapse sequence of nature slowly encroaching on this place. Wonder what it would look like in another 5-10 years if the stupid developers could be held at bay?!
its like conflicting worlds....on the left you have the neat looking wall that hasnt suffered too bad over time...and on the right....its aged just how we like it. the floor plays along too.
This is one of my favorites; the colours are just enticing for some reason.
ahhh, now that's more of a soothing skylight, complete with broken glass.
I agree Tommeh...it's like a then and now shot merged down the center.
love the colors in the pictures and love the mold on the ground
I love the angles in this pic. I would love to look round some of these places. Thanks for the new gallery Motts
awsome.
WOW I LOVE IT THIS IS NOW ON OF MY FAVIOTE PICUTRES!!!!!!
by the way motts......
what kind of patiants did they treat here?
I think it may have been a general hospital...
I totally lied...it was a lunatic asylum
Beautiful picture.
This hall looks a mouth about to swallow you. I actually gasped in fear when I saw this pic in full lol.
Tommeh!!, The neat left wall is courtesy of the radiators. Even though they wouldn't be on after everyone left, the whole wall and its interiors would have repelled mould, just that little bit longer.
i could live there
I love this place, How did you get permmision to Photograph it? I'd love to take a tour x
Haha I can just see the twins from "the shining" standing at the end of the hall "come play with us danny" ahah
Just another hall that I would want to haunt when I smoked a joint and dropped some mild acid, eh?
Keep that up and all you will be doing is haunting.
this picture is insane.
it's like the right side is rotted away..versus the left side. which looks like it's never been closed down.
all the paint is peeling and mold and stuff is everywhere. even the skylights are dirty.
then you look over, and the windows are clean, the paint looks fine and the mold isn't on the floor.
I suppose there were happy times.
And I suppose under ideal conditions we can carry saddness around inside us.
my mum used to work in the laundry at the hospital and i would meet her for lunch and i remember having to walk through some of the wards were all the padded cells were to get to the canteen, very scary
half real, half video game/movie?
very good photography and i when i went it wasent like this so you have done some think buffed it out n your camra because its not like this in real life !
