THATS ODD...
You know, they say that over exposure to red light and/or to environments with a lot of red in them (like the secretary of state's offices used to have in Michigan) can induce certain sensistive individuals to exhibit certain subpsychological symptoms of various psychoses.
Ahhhh...the long hallway shot! And THIS one with the addition of beautiful red lights!!
I really like this one... a lot!
Its incredibly light in there...lighter than i can remember from most other corridor pics....correct me if im wrong. beautiful none the less.
wow, just looking at the red made me irritated!
how did the patients deal with that?
See! I'm tellin' ya! Now poor Patty is in danger of developing a severe, traumatic, red induced psychosis. Quick, Patty - slow, deep breath, think about blue... you can still save yourself!
That is so eye appealing. The red just draws my eyes to it, how unusual. I have never seen red lights frames before. Uusually they are white.
Look at that half a painting poking out from around the corner...kinda looks like a Bob Ross landscape. I'd love to see the full painting.
(breathes easily) thank you GirlJaye just what i needed! : )
Hey, you know, whatever I can do to help ;)
Looks like part of the surgery in Nip Tuck.. With a good 50 years of age included =)
Quite stylish really.
REDRUM REDRUM!!!!
definitely redrum!!
red filters are used to allow one to see better in a darkened area. maybe that's why these are there.
mink
It looks like there's a brothel upstairs.
you know if these where for emergency power and these came on during a black out that would serously look really acool and what girljaye said is really intersting
I'm waiting to see what Lynn says...
Florida Jen, I could be wrong but I think maybe you're seeing a knee-wall with mold on it; notice the black rubber base.

The red is kinda creepy.
Gotta agree -that is freakin'odd
BLOOD LIGHTS!!!!!
wow.those red light creep me out.. i would hate to have those kind of lights in my house.
they might have been put there after the hospital closed to keep debree out. I cant imagine it was red skylights.
the first thing I thought was the scene from "Wizard of Oz"-xcept it follow the red lights-and when the Scarecrow tripped-that was the light hanging down.

I guess I have too much time on my hands!!!
This is so creepy looking!
hallways r like the mind, long with many doors. this particular reminds me of the game resident evil. ugh, someone has same user name as me, now i have to use 12 Monkeys ;)
there :)
Looks like the inferno wants back in.
maby they were put there to make the people think they were going crazy
I agree with patty. the red irritates me....alot. just looking at it i feel like smashing them. its the shade of red i htink...not red itself...i mean i have alot of red things and nothing agitates me like this dose.
thatz odd why have red skykights?
I lovooooooooove the Red
To GirlJaye,
Did you know white pine mental institution in Saginaw is built on an old graveyard? And as they had added on a wing, they un earthed 4 bodies.
this is takenin st lukes hospital at whittingham, on ward 's' the ramp leading up to the ballroom down 'ward s corridor' is just visible on the r/h side
The long typical white corridor with a bit of a psychodelic effect. Red lights always blew my away.
I was going to sleep tonight, except thats not happening anymore. Love this shot too much to breathe.
Different

Did you know that in the photo darkrooms of days (past?) the only light allowed for film developement was a red light bulb?
And in that case anything red that you were wearing or carried in would disappear.
Next there was an inner darkroom inside the darkroom with no light.
i dont find it creepy.. its a fantastic contrast.
i like the shot.
This one is amazing =]
Too cool - that red is the life blood of the building...still keeping it alive...ssshh! Listen closely & you can hear its heart beating...thump thump....thump thump
Beware of the "State" you may find yourslf incarcenated in such a place one day.
photo darkrooms...funny thing about the red wavelength...they need light-blocking revolving doors.
