These markings were in many places inside.

In triguing...I wonder what they were for.
Possibly another explorer marking their trail so they could find their way out.
I agree with Puddleboy.
It was probably an incredibly gay, but horribly illiterate tagger, that did those.
I think those markings are for security. They mark the route they are supposed to patrol.
You gotta love that institutional green on the walls...gives me a headache just looking at the picture. Imagine being in the room!
LOL Jen to make it worse it's like a yellow green, the horrid drab yellow meets puke green. Delightful huh?
X marks the spot.....where the bodies are hidden
Bid ED, you make me giggle
Oh, you made it inside the Admins Building?!? EXCELLENT!
maybe its like a treasure map x marks the spot
Probably another explorer as suggested by Puddleboy. Could also be a reference mark made by a demolition crew.
Maybe it something like "Room checked"? (And have no remains of bodies or something like(blue X) / Bodies are hidden quite well(pink X))
Now I know that the "up-tight" english still did the stall showers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do feel a lot better!!
That X is very creepy. It looks like the markings on the houses flooded by Katrina. I have to look at them on a daily basis and, frankly, would love to forget them.
The pink x could stand for load bearing walls. If they are going to rip this masterpiece down, they might have started to mark it already.

When they gut it, that's one of the walls they DON'T want to take out LOL.
*agrees with big ed*
Anyone stop to think its just a pink X?
Your all wrong it was me who did the x's and all the damage too during some survey work. We were looking for asbestos....I'd advise you all NEVER set foot in there.....
i've been to wittingham, the red X's have been put there by urbex'ers to mark unsafe rooms/stairs etc.
If you've been there Iain, how do you explain the numbers sprayed everywhere too? I spent 2 months everyday doing an intrusive asbestos survey (hence all the sledgehammer holes everywhere) No site plans were available so we marked each room off as we did it. The numbers indicate asbestos sample points.....trust me its bad for your health in there....
X-Man is chattin but it is packed full of asbestos in there so dont go in!
fair play mate sounds like you know what your talking about

we made that assumption but you seem to be right

PS. we always take gasmasks and face scalves because we spotted aspestos in there ourselves - we had already taken them with just incase, lucky!
i have been inside, the council put them there , doors and stairs are marked with X to warn you its dangerous
awful pretty, though.
I doubt it was some brave explorer trying to find his way out!
I live right in front of the hospital, I go on walks around it most days, I have to say it is quite creepy but you don't have to be brave to go in there, just a bit stupid because you're risking breathing in asbestos or falling through the floor
haha
Mulder...where are you?
