Coarse Grain

Coarse Grain

A higher ISO setting combined with the infrared filter created an interesting texture in this photo; the effect reminds me of an old horror film. The details in all the stonework were quite astounding.

It looks gritty and raw....I love it!
potential wall paper here??? I love that I have to look up.
Kadee, you took the words right outta my mouth! Motts, just put the Opacity above, in the sky....Match the grit and color, so its hard to see....This my fave shot so far!
The window ornamentation is fabulous.
yeah, it looks like something out of Nosferatu. NIce work, as always!
Oh wow. Just beautiful...now THOSE are some window treatments! So MUCH detail but not to the point where it could have looked gaudy or over the top.
Is that one window boarded up or is that a shade? If it is boarded, seems odd the others aren't...Stunning shot!
I must've stared at this picture forever... I got so lost in it... Gorgeous!
I really love the work around those bottom windows, this is a great shot!
the brick work is amazing. They dont make-em like that any more.
Astounding...I'll second that.
When I first looked at this, I took a deep breath and said outloud, OH MY GOD. I can say no more.
The Opened window with the shade pulled is the most interesting part of this picture to me. Why would the window be opened and the shade pulled completely down ......
Love this one :)
got to this one just as the Sarah McLachlan's version of Gloom Sunday comes on my player. its so fitting, you guys should try it out.

beautiful shot.
sorry guys. thats Gloomy Sunday...
I love it again your talent shines through with every photo!! I can not wait to see the rest. :-)
Definately agree that it looks like an old horror pic! Love it! I just wish you couldve got inside, imagine what it couldve been like!!
I don't usually comment in every picture, but each picture is better than the last - all I can say is "YIKES!" I got goosebumps!

It's so sinister and foreboding...and it seems as though it is beckoning you to come inside...
Definitely one of my favourites on this site. Absolutely fantastic.
I love the imposing angle here. The textural feeling makes it a more visceral experience as well. It brings to mind still shots from horror films. This shot is just dying to tell a dark, complex and intriguing story. It's lovely.
Hauntingly Beautiful!
i love the new comments layout.
This picture does cast some kind of movement in the Mona Lisa sense, I could of swore out of the corner of my eye, I saw the old window shades flutter slightly. Over course I am very exausted too. You give great effects Motts!
wow i mean wow!
They just don't make buildings like this anymore. The stonework around the windows is amazing.
