And just in time for Hallowe'en!!!!!!
absolutely..OH WOW!!
Such a beautiful blue in the back!
It looks like the wood is made of mahogany. Those must be crowns above the handles?
Yes those are crowns above the handles. There seemed to be an outer cloth covering the wood casket liner that has rippled and torn, much like the ones found in the psych hospital: http://www.opacity.us/image2422_corner.htm
The fancy box goes into a large cement one.
(I only know this because I was hanging around an extremely active graveyard a few years ago, it was a place where my friends and I first learned how to drive. There was an open grave there just about every day.)
Motts, once again, I must acknowledge how blessed you are with an eye for this sort of thing. Great work!
This one, to me, appears like something straight out of a late '50s - early '60s Hammer film. I love it.
It also brings to mind the vampire Barlow's coffin from Tobe Hooper's 1979 version of 'SALEM'S LOT.
Rock On People. Also Darkness Is Your Friend.
Very nice work
No, there wasn't any odor or hint of rotting flesh - these people have been dead a long, long time. The place just smelled very musty, with a hint of that damp, rotting wood smell that I've become very familiar with.
It's like it was meant to rest.
I believe there is a Federal law in all or most of the 50 states that require a casket to be inserted into a cement bunker , then have a cement lid sealed into place with tar.
This law appeared in I guess the 1970's, and it IS NOT retroactive.
In this case (Crypt of Barons)we're dealing with an entirly different animal altogether.
