A Warning

A Warning

The guard dog sign didn't bother me so much on the trip until I had a little run-in with them at Cane Hill; everything turned out ok there although I didn't get to see the inside of the building... but I digress.

I felt that Denbigh was the highlight of the asylum tour; I really enjoyed exploring and photographing this institution and the castle next to it.

Great Set Motts, Cant wait till the next
great set again motts!
As always, I enjoyed the photographs, but the history behind them is what makes them special for me. Thank you for taking the time for such good research!
Those sharp points at the top of the fence are scary!

Mr. Motts thank you for this one, it was special for sure. And for someone running on "no sleep" you have amazed us regardless.
I never get tired of your pictures!! I am so glad that you have shared these with us.

well done!!
Another great gallery. Thank you so much Motts for bringing these places to us through your eyes.
Bravo!
Motts, they say where there's a will there's a way, and you DO have a wonderful way with taking such moving pictures and also educating us all at the same time!
I love this last picture to exit your tour.
I also want to thank you for bringing us along! ; )
Thanks Motts. It was well worth the wait.
Amazing gallery! Thanks yet again, Motts!
got my fix thanks motts
You've outdone yourself on this gallery. Lotsa damned fine images.
well worth the wait these photos are terrific!!
Seeing a location i know of shows how much talent Mr Motts has.Im betting that if this place ever does get destroyed that they'll be people who will be grate full that someone with such a great vision for a beautiful shot documented it before it was gone.At least someone does places like this in the UK and US some justice and someone with empathy for the people who worked and lived in\used these places too.
Another great gallery from my favorite photographer! Keep them coming, and i promise, i'll keep looking through them! :)
haha, i used to ignore those signs till one time at severalls... but once more, congrats on an awesome gallery...im gonna have to see this place sometime.
this is an awesome gallery, motts!
thank you so much for eating gas station food & barely sleeping in teeny car to bring these to us!
you're the best!
WOOF!
Thanks again Motts for a nother awsome tour cant wait for the next one!
Rock on Motts. Your pictures really KICK ASS. Can't wait to see anther abandoned place by the Urban Warrior, Motts.
All of the photos where truly amazing to me, i wanted to save my comments for the last photo, or i would just keep repeating myself again and again. I am curious about one thing and this may seem a silly question, but did you feel differently going through the old asylums in europe, or do you basically feel the same every time you step into an old building? Silly i guess, but it really intrigues me
Thank you, Motts, for sharing another wonderful gallery of images. Your work is absolutely breathtaking.
Premium photos mosts. Simply the premium.
anna, it feels different each time for me... it depends on the type of place, if I've been there before, the temperature, the sounds, the smells, my mood; a whole bunch of things that form into one memory that is occasionally brought back by visiting a place under similar conditions.

My memory hasn't been the greatest with details though, after 100 or so hospitals they start to blend together. I want to start writing my trip down afterwards so I don't forget...
Incredible gallery Motts...you have such a gift and I'm so glad you're sharing it with us. Can't wait till the next set. Thank you.
You're so intelligent Motts! Can I um... Will you um... Nevermind...
Well, your lack of sleep didn't hinder your creativeness at all! The gallery turned out great. It is nice that you were able to find out so many different tidbits to add as well as comparison photos. It really rounded out the experience.
The life you breathe back into these places is amazing.
Oooh Mr Motts, you mention in your write up that you had probs with dogs at Cane Hill? Would that be Cane Hill Asylum in Surrey and are there piccies? *that place is about 20 minutes down the road from... where I used to live*
Yeah, Cane Hill and West Park near Epsom were two places I was not able to photograph :(
Here's an idea to finance future trips. a calender with some of your great shots worth the money maybe? And me I love cemetaries how bout that old crypts. yeah now you're talking
I'd love to one day, not sure about for next year though... I have plenty of cemeteries and crypts coming up, and some pretty wild stuff I haven't gotten to yet!
All I can do is repeat what everyone else is saying!

What an experience! Thank you so much!
"Yeah, Cane Hill and West Park near Epsom were two places I was not able to photograph :("

That's a bummer :( Not been up there in ages myself, too heavily patrolled these days so I hear?
Just had a look around the site there are ways in and we didn,t encounter any dogs ... We had a look around the chuch/chapel at the grounds and also the newer developed yet derelict buildings ... Next time round its into the main builiding
Fantastic set, Motts, and thanks again for the research and old post card shots that fill in the history for us.
Sir, YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!!!!
another great ending. THANK YOU SIR!!!
did you notice the adjoining field of sheep to the right of the asylum (and sign)? :p.. what a waste of a sign :p
Absoultely perfect, with no dog bite to the rear! Even if it was sleep that dogged you.
ive visited this hospital with friends. what a fantastic building, shame about its current state. i would love to know more about its history!!!
'ffordd allan' means way out in welsh, that was the photo with no translation, been there before we went at midnight and didnt leave till about 2 am, heard some wierd screams, would defo go bac again tho..
