Every haystack should have one of these near by...
did the asylum have a working farm there?
I would assume so; most rural psych hospitals at the time grew their own food, although I couldn't tell if the farm buildings were part of the complex at any point.
isnt it suppose to be a needle not a fire extinguisher?
Most UK asyluns would be almost self sufficent ....... Denbigh even had its own well!
Hey Joe, I'm sure that needle is in there somewhere.
The farm was apparently part of the hospital until the 1950's when it was sold.
My, what a little extinguisher. I bet that would be very useful if the haystack caught alight... for thirty seconds. What type of extinquisher was it Motts, I bet it was foam. ;)
Its black, with an elongated cone nozzle, so one would assume its a CO2 extinguisher.
hahahah yes I figured as much, would have been better with a foam one. hahaha
I love the light streaming in...almost seems to have a life all it's own.
Was this some kind of barn area thing? Or did the patients sleep on hay? Lol
It probably has spring snakes inside like off family guy.
Farmer's Lung!!!
Since they probably didn't have Halon then...or I could be wrong but Halon is dangerous anyway

probably Co2
hey Joe, remember this is an asylum, it was probably hard for them to find a needle
That is a CO2 extinguisher, Halon is used for electronics.
I'm sure it has been placed there for oily rags that were problably stored there at one time. Since oily rags can combust real easily alone.
someone i know lit the hay on fire about a year ago.
Did the Fire extinguisher work? lol
Every hay stack should have a fire extinguisher, because back then you were allowed to smoke anywhere.
they had everything fhey needed within the 130 acres of it so they could keep the place isolated but it is beleived that just over 2000 souls lived within this building then they had to sleep in the corridors as there was no room for them all so they extended the buildings but before the hospital was built there were wiccan witches on this site wich the patients were able to talk to due to there mental state but them bein were they were the doctors didnt beleive them and considered them to be raving mad and performed electric shock theropy or sedated them up to a week but its has been known that this witch was tryin to heel the patients as she was a healer in life (wiccan)
I thought *I* wrote run-on sentences! I must have missed the memo that abolished punctuation. Either that, or grammar is one of the casualties of the technology revolution. (just friendly teasing, please don't take offense) :-)
Did you happen to find the well when you were there? Mentioned in an above post.
