Nice Gothic, looks like something out of an old Vincent Price movie. Siniter, yet beautiful.
Beautiful, I agree with Bill though...it does have a sinister sort of look about it!
Again, just fabulous.
I see a wallpaper in the future ;-)
Welll that is just stunning. I love this place, for some reason it is reminding me of Danvers a bit *cry*
Sad and beautifully haunting all at the same time.
thats a nice picture.
it makes me wanna live there....imagine that beautiful building all nice and homelike...for you to live in....but of course, we still gotta love it for its decay and coldness :D
Love the shot Motts!!! for sure a wallpaper got to be!

Love the black&white if it wasnt for the boards on the windows it would be 1899!
Simply beautiful.
I am so glad you got to take pictures of this amazing place before once again its turned into more ikea style homes! what is this world coming to when all we do is forget our past?
NARNIA?
I am amused by the plants growing on the tower. In south eastern Indiana there is a small town that has an interesting claim to fame. There is a full tree growing out of the roof of the tower on their town hall! I have been there to see it. It is a strange sight indeed.
True castle..very beautiful:)
"I see a wallpaper in the future "

I was thinking that myself
BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I'm still thinking of "AS TIME GOES BY"
This is divine and beautiful. How could they leave these places empty and derelict? (where's my soapbox, would someone pass me....over there...thanks), i can't believe that in the UK and USA there are so many magnificent heritage buildings that are crying out to be rebuilt as museums or funky co op housing or nursing homes or scientology headquarters (sorry...) it's not as though they were surgical buildings with heaps of golden staph infecting the floorboards. If I get 'JK Rowling' wealthy I'm gonna buy me one and live like an eccentric. Viva the kirkbride, viva the asylum! I'll get down now, shall I?...
Well, As a home, I think it would take JK Rowling's bank account to keep it heated, however, with it's long halls, it would be a hell of a place to ride a bicycle inside of, not to mention the other things one couldn't live without, such as a bowling alley, or an inside skeet shooting gallery! :)
Scientologists are the new millenium's false prophets.
FANTASTIC,I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS WHOLE THING IN PERSON.THANK YOU SO MUCH MOTTS FOR THIS WEB SITE,FOR ALL OF US TO SEE THE BEAUTY THROUGH YOUR EYES.
Beautiful.
This whole building is beautiful, yet very cold and evil feeling?. If that makes any sense. Think of the people that looked out of those windows, lost souls that what i think that place will be full of! lost souls. Heard it has been bought and the developer could not knock it down as it is a grade 2 listed building and the expensive to do it up was far too much, so if he leaves it to rot and fall to bits, it is then classed as UNSAFE and they will then let him knock it down and rebuild.
This building is so grand and looks like it is straight out of movie, reminds me a bit of the one in THE OTHERS.

Fab pics. x
its abbandoned cuz its fecking haunted derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

looks very crimbo-ish lol!

inviting to some dare devils!
a site with some traumatic and sinister pasts, to have been a place of historic methods in psychotherapy.
If a dwelling really was a recorder of intense stress and trauma, what would it play back to us?
there many places, here in wales, disused, too expensive to renovate and run, also too full of memories and frightening rumours (mostly exaggerated), not many people seem to have the imagination, or guts to do them up!
Who could
totally love this pic,
This photo is stunning I wish they weren't going to demolish it thank god there are still hospitals like this one that have been saved I am thankful to you for recording this place in so much detail maybe you could visit other places like this one before they are destroyed so we will never forget that they existed
Hey! This is where Most Haunted Live is broadcasring from... cool..... I wanna buy it and live in it lol

how much would it cost 2 buy??
if a group of you guys ever does buy a place like this i will gladly chip in
remind me of the house in the munster
What an awesome place to search...can you say jealous?
WOW!
What a beautiful picture. The building is amazing. How did it feel inside, did it feel like it was a nice place to be, or did it feel more like death and despair?
BEAUTIFUL!! i love this
