Ystafell Fwyta

No that isn't a typo, that would be welsh for "Dining Room" (or so I would assume). The blue sticker is a fire door -keep shut notice.

This reminds me of that carpet in Pine Brook (i think?) Where the green stuff was growing out of the rug.
Was the fire sticker in Welsh as well?
Nope, it was in English... the language seemed predominantly English in paperwork and signage here.
Wow! Great shot, I love the way the floor looks like a field......
With this outside my dining room, I dont think I would want to eat
Son!!! You forgot to MOW the VESTIBULE!!! Get busy!!!
looks like everyone left their dinner too...
Looks like a little mini landscape over to the left; green hills, rocks and a lake! Pretty cool...
looks like they grow there own penicllen 9sp)
AKOBANE, AKOBANE!
Absolutely Sara B....any moment we'll see the mini mountain goats battle to the death for the right to rule the mini mountain-side.

*Ok time to reign in the imagination*
Not enough vowels for my taste!

You couldn't happen to tell what all those lumps on the floor were, could you?
I believe it was all the missing vowels.
Imagine the scores in a game of Welsh Scrabble.
did someone drag in a slew of rank fertilizer into this room & allow the green fungi to grow & reek big time?
Pah ha hahahahahaha! Welsh scrabble would be a hoot!
I think I craved this photo even before I saw it.
Actually, it's an anagram for 'Flat Sweaty Fly'
"Son!!! You forgot to MOW the VESTIBULE!!! Get busy!!!"

That made me choke and pound my desk. Thanks for the laugh!
Wow...that door really caught my attention for some reason. It's very solid and sturdy looking, even now, and the color has stayed on it. Also the green on the floor is a lovely color...I'm assuming its moss?
Gives me that cold , sanitary look of hospitals of old. Even though it's in bad shape, I can see it in its prime. COLD & SANITARY. No compassion, just business as usual. Those poor people.
I call it un intentional Feung Shuay!
You can get Welsh Scrabble sets, but with the scores adjusted & some pairs of letters on one tile as they in effect count as one letter, like CH & LL in Spanish.
Those kinds of 'Fire Door - Keep Shut' signs are really common in the UK. You see them everywhere in schools, et cetera.
'ystafell fwyta' 'eating room' in welsh....... Anybody know somewhere I can buy a new welsh scrabble board, mine's buggered....... Yffarn diawl!!!!!
Whoa, just looking at the carpet is so strange. Nature doesn't take long to reclaim its own.
this isnt denbigh nut house (mental asylum) ive been in there myself and it doesnt look like that..!!!!!!!!!!!
what is that at the edge of the door it looks like a dead animal or somthing
W and Y are vowels in Welsh... 'Denbigh' was a by-word for mental illness when I was growing up.
Mae hwn yn ardderchog! Gwaith bendigedig, Motts :)

(Ah, it's nice to see a bit of Welsh crop up on Opacity!)
Oh, and completely random info - it's pronounced 'Uhstahvell vooitah'. Trouble is that the 'll' sound doesn't exist in the English language...

...you have to sort of put the tip of your tongue on your palate and blow air across the sides of your tongue (like a slightly bonkers sideways lisp, really), without using your voice at all.

And this concludes my pointless and dull lecture :p
