Chapel

Chapel

The "chapel" was connected to the main building; unfortunately I didn't take many photos of it as I would've liked because there were voices outside so we packed up to get ready to run, but it turned out to be some young kids messing around.

This was actually used as a billiards hall rather than for religious worship!

one of my new favorites.
Stunning!
Rack em' square knuckles !
The ferns lend to a sense of spirituality, even in disrepair.
Ahhh, the ironies of life.
It would make a wonderful greenhouse.
This is an awe-inspiring shot.

I like this one a lot!
"My time here is over
The end of life draws nigh
No more footsteps, no laughter
All have passed away
I once was proud and regal
I once stood tall and strong
Scorched by fire and abandoned
Walls are falling, staircase crumbling
A shadow of what once was
I have grown so weary
I can hold on no more
I bid you farewell
As I depart, forgotten."
wow, lovely color my fave too!
would love to shoot pool in here
Wait.. who says playing pool ISN'T worshipping? :)

asleep in a chapel......
For on the wings of Love.
That the living soul takes flight.
Sooo Beautiful! The first thing that came to mind was that book I read as a kid, "The Secret Garden." It's just how I use to picture the garden...
BEAUTIFUL PICTURE LAYOUT!!!!
It looks like more of a greenhouse now, with the glass roof, and the ferns. But nevertheless its still and amazing picture.
STUNNING! nice colour!
My Grandad's football team used to play on the fields at St.Margarets. Apparently there were 100s of patients with downs syndrome sat in their audience.
I really love this shot, and I had to comment, it really reminds me of the church in Final Fantasy 7.
some of the most breath taking images ive ever seen.it stays with you.
nice "sepia" shot, looks like final fantasy
this place looks haunted even in the daytime
Awesome picture!
Twug, what awe inspireing words. Adds so much to the photo!!!!!! Perfect reflection on a beautiful photo!!!!!Thank You!!!!! I feel compelled to genuflecy and make the SIGN OF THE CROSS.
I used to play around in the grounds of St Mary's when I was a kid whilst the hospital was still going. It was a fantastic forgotten world then. Some of my best childhood memories were spent roaming the grounds without a care in the world. Great haunting images which even in decay remind me of those long summer days.
This one takes my breath...
Amazing
i have spent hours looking at all the different hospitals. and this is one of my favorite photos.........
Give me WALLPAPER or give me DEATH!!!
Yay! For the Sepia Motts!
I've always loves chapels and this one is really special. Great job :)
On the outside wall of the chapel there were and still should be little grave stones set into the ground, I was told they were the graves of the pets of the scott family.
This shot is beautiful and reminds me of my ghostly encounter in the hall, whilst we were standing in this chapel the white lady drifted past the doorway which leads back into the main hall, that was the end of exploring for that day :)

Stunning, really pretty shot.
It's a good thing you were able to get some shots of this place, before it was demolished. Love the Chapel! Too bad they didn't use it for prayer.
Yes this pic -oh so Puuuurfect !
So rivitingly creepy yet inviting , a sanctuary in need of help

my firend Alisa (the local Goth Girl) wants her wedding . here ..
alas I womder who has a bedroom on this spot now ?
Alongside the chapel wall are a number of animal graves. There is at least one horse buried there. I used to walk past the chapel on my way home after my shift and the animal graves were clearly visible in the 70's.
