The shapes of the upper doors, and the scrollwork on the stairs are just stunning.
Awesome job Motts!
why do idiots have to spraypaint every building that is abandoned?

Even in this state, it is beautiful
Every inch of this intricate building is absolutely beautiful. Such a shame it is falling apart. Time will do that...oh, yea, so does arson.... :` (
try to imagine what the staircase looked like years ago when it was still running as a asylum
Oh so pretty! I have a weird fascination with scaffolding...something about it makes me happy!
For those of you who don't know, most of this place has been demolished now. Bovis Homes are buliding hundreds of houses and apartments, with a "Stunning lake view." Several houses have been burnt down in protest, but of course that won't stop them.
Its sad to hear about these places being left to rot. than to be tore donw . thanks to these great
pictures, they will never be fore got.
So, some housing project is going there, For the ELITE? You've got to save this place. We've stopped things like this in the US but you've got to get the right people behind you. I just can't believe that some sort of Historical Society isn't fighting this. I'm sorry, I may get banned from this site because I may be causing an Insurrection here but I've just got to say my feelings. I'd get some big names behind me and I'd fight it. I'd end up seeing the Prince, or I'd die trying. I've got too much of that Irish Blood running through my veins. But, I'm still an American (remember the TEA PARTY)????
AAAH!!!!!!!!! FUCKING "GRAfFITIS" RUINS EVERYTHING!!! I HATE THEM
Motts,
If you would like me to borrow some of the photo's i have taken of the lakes & surrounding area, EMail me at christobren@hotmail.com - i only live across the round fro St. Margarets Hospital.
Regards, Chris.
I agree with NEVERMORE! This child of the colonists is enraged by the neglect of valuable history!
anyone who wants to try and get near the place, better think again. it private property, and u are likely to get attacked by guard dogs. same if u are caught on the grounds. in other words keep off.
Mr Security....are they restoring this house or not? Thats what I'd like to know. I couldn't go there even if I wanted too. I just hope they are restoring this beautiful building ....if not than shame on them. IMO anyway.......
The rude security guard who left the message sounds like the one I met, get an attitude change mate. I have visited the hall on many occasions long before you'd ever heard of it and I have never done any damage on any of my visits... this aggression makes me wonder what your hiding?
I agree with blue lamp, I would also like to know if your actually going to restore this beautiful building, it is part of the hertitage of Great Barr...or will you just wait til it falls down so you haven't got to bother restoring it at all!!!
oooo somebody woke up on the rong side of the bed go news for u mister i bin there today dint see no security guard and no god damn dog so yeh i did think again about laughing at u and ur attitude! maybe i will see u wen i mek my next visit after christmas or maybe not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
to the fake a$s security guard wanna-be, I live in the US, (Va to be exact), but you make me wanna come over there and feed you to youre own dog (trust me I'am his pack leader). Youre such a joke I'd bet not even a real security guard, just a wanna-be talkin shite
btw I love abandoned asylums, hope to see waverly hills (louisville Ky) on here soon. Motts 4 prez
