Razor Wire

Razor Wire

The wire was piled up behind the front door, I assume in an effort to keep people out at one point... it now just needed to be stepped over. The rooms were large and open, and the second floor/roof was badly deteriorated... this place looked like it has been abandoned for a very long time.

Wow, it is so hard to imagine what this must have looked like before.
WOW. I love the brick fireplace, and those points of sunlight on the floor really make this shot.
I love the razor wire in the corner of the shot, almost like an afterthought.
This must be the great hall. Look at that monster of a fireplace! This place must have been impressive at one time!
this picture looks like a concentration camp Mr. Motts
The monster has been struck down. It lay bleeding, its glowing white eyes gazing up into the sky as it breathes its last breath.....
looks like santas not commin this year
The razor wire even looks like a plant, maybe ivy, tangeling about the floor.
I noticed several comments regarding "Suspiria" (awesome movie). The razor wire reminds me of the one scene where one of the girls is being followed and she tries to escape into another room, only its filled with razor wire and she gets sliced to ribbons. Same goes for the guy in the first "Saw" movie, again while trying to escape.
Not sure why but the movie "Silent Hill" comes to mind.
Razor Wire? To keep people out? Or to keep some poor souls in?
It would have been interesting to see what this room originally looked like as compared to now!
interresting how you got the floor and ceiling in one shot. Did you blend it ?
Nope... 24mm lens. I haven't posted anything with the 12mm yet! ;-)
my friend was a ward sister on pearson ward how sad to see a good hospital also the old hall it is a disgrace that the council or british heratage didnt step in before it got into that state
So sad that graffiti is there. Just degrades the atmosphere. But WHAT A SHOT. The light coming through what is left of the ceiling. GREAT!!!!!!!
the ghosts shouldve eaten those taggers :P
I have always loved B&W photgraphy, but yours is just perfect!
If Santa came, he'd be screwed!
I agree with Maz, Walsall Council should be ashamed of itself, I know people who own other grade II listed properties in the area and the council come down hard on them if they paint them the wrong colour or put chimney pots up that are not the correct period but they have managed to just ignore this wonderful property altogether for the last 30 years!!
Sadly this 'castle' isnt that old at all and doesnt normaly look half as good as in these beautiful photos.
Its a Victorian building in the style of a castle
TRANKO, your wrong , its not victorian at all, it dates from eighteenth century.
